Finding a summer job is tough!

Geez I got home from NC State a week and a half ago and now I have to find a summer job. But of course it feels like no where is hiring. Why does gas and car insurance and tuiton have to be so expensive =/

    Shouldn't have left NC State

I don't even have a job in Raleigh yet though....but check with places like FedEx sorting packages, they always need people

It was always a pain in the arse to find a summer job, when I was in college most kids did their summer job hunting on winter or spring break so they were ready to work as soon as they got home.

Nothings worse than missing out on a $1k or so because it takes you three weeks to find a job.

It's not just part-time summer jobs, many places around here just aren't hiring period.

Finding a job is rough. I just found out I was completely passed over for a position I was more than qualified for. This is just depressing.

I put in 5 applications over spring break, none worked out. Now I am going to be getting back home first week of June... not liking my chances.

This is why as much as I despise Kroger and make jokes about the place in which I work, if I were to quit, then it would take forever and a day to find a new job. I'm stuck there. I don't hate it, it's just not something I'll be doing after another 2 years time.

I'm working for Take 2 for MY 6 month spring/summer internship. Not to toot my own horn, but *toot toot*.

It's impossible to find a job period. I've been looking for 2 years and nobody will even call me back.

Yea I worked at Shaw's, a grocery store last summer. I didn't like it at all and didn't want to work there this summer, but they liked me and it seemed like they were always hiring so I figured I had it as a backup plan, but it turns out I don't. I gotta get real serious looking now, just try everywhere. It's just tough because a lot of places don't want to hire just for the summer.

For jobs in the summer, you really have to be near a summer travel destination. I live in Newport, Rhode Island which is a big tourist destination in the summer. A lot of positions open for the summer. And the sad thing is with the limits on Visa's for foreign workers, a lot of the employers are having a hard time finding enough workers.
