I don't know if you remember, but back around February I had a thread about my girlfriend's dad being in the hospital after being mugged. Well he recovered and is fine now, but this morning I got worse news. My girlfriend's grandfather has been shot twice and is in critical condition right now. Things do not look good right now. I know some people on here have recently lost relatives, and I am hoping to god right now that he can recover, but please spend all the time you can with your loved ones, you never know what might happen the next day.

On a more personal note, you know those things you say that end up becoming true? I don't blame myself much at all for it, but awhile back when my girlfriend and I were talking about having a car on campus winter quarter, I wasn't able to do it and didn't want to say because it was too expensive. So we were going back and forth about why I would need a car and everything, and I said, "It's not like I'm going to miss any big emergency or anything". Since then her dad has been beat up and nearly killed, and her grandfather is in critical condition. In the 2 years before that, the worst that happened was her sister broke her wrist. Talk about something coming back to bite you... hard.
