Good luck! If you get the job try to soak in the cultural aspects of it as well if you can. I've learned a lot about native peoples in my school days and I tell you they're some of the most interesting and fascinating groups of people you'll ever meet.

Well the interview went well. They said they process is slow and may take up to 4-5 weeks which really sucks cause I need to get some money coming in. The benefits package was amazing. They had it all. Then another place interviewed me today that is a family owned business where I would be doing all types of stuff from graphic arts to basic computer work. So I'm kinda in a pickle. The family owned business sounds like they may hire me pretty quick, but I'm scared to take that job cause what if the Chickasaw's in 4 weeks say your hired. I would feel like a complete A-Hole to the family owned company if I up and left them. I guess we'll just have to play it by ear. Thanks for all the kind words guys!

Well I guess I was good enough for a second interview at the Chickasaw's. They want me to come in again on Monday and bring some more examples of my work. Progress!

I know absolutely nothing about Oklahoma Landlord/Tenant law, but off the top of my head it is the Landlord's duty to get them out by June 1 so you can take possession, otherwise you may have a cause of action for damages that result from the failure to remove the tenant, such as excess storage fees for your furniture.

I think that wouldf apply only if consideration in the form of a monetary down payment was given.

If I was in your situation I wouldn't worry at all about being an A-hole. You need to do what is best for you, your new family, and your career; the family owned business will survive.

What happened with the whole furniture situation? Did you find another house to move into?

The furniture store was nice enough to hold it in their storage for an extra month. We found a 2 bed, 2 bath apartment to move into. Not exactly what we wanted but its only a 6 month lease and month to month after that. We'll just save up money and start looking to buy after six months.

My situation is a little different than yours but hang in there. In 2001, my wife and I were engaged and set to be married on July 28. We had everything planned out and ready to go. We were buying a house, and although not the biggest, it was exactly what we were looking for at that time. She and I had both finished college the year before, working pretty good jobs, and still living with our parents to save money until we were married.

We were scheduled to close on our house on a Monday at the beginning of July that year. The day before we were supposed to close on the house, a massive storm came and flooded the town we lived in. It wiped out the church where we were going to be married, the house we were buying, and my parents house also. It also took out the company that I worked for. Things were a mess and we had no idea what we were going to do.

To make a long story short, we were fortunate enough to have our wedding moved to church in a nearby town so we went ahead and went through with the wedding as planned. My mom and dad rented a house for a little bit while they had a new one built and my wife and I spent the next 4 months taking turns staying with her parents and mine until we found a place to rent. I was out of work for 5 weeks before I found another job but I ended up making more money with the new job than I was making with the old one that I lost in the flood. Anyway, here we are 7 years later, still married, with a beautiful home, good jobs, and the most precious thing in the world.......a 9 month old little boy. Things can and do work out. Hang in there buddy.
