Do you put salt on watermelon or any other fruit?

Easy question. I just made a post about this in the Off-topic thread but now I'm intrigued. Do you salt your watermelon or any other fruit? I was fascinated today to see a woman at work salting her watermelon and cantaloupe. In my 29 years of existence I have not seen this or thought about doing it. I was just wondering how many people actually salt their fruit because I would never have guessed.

I occasionally put salt on my watermelon.

It makes it taste less watered down.

As i stated in OT, salt goes well with oranges, watermelon, and apples.

I thought only my grandfather and I put salt on our watermelon.

My g/f puts it on tomatoes. She eats them as if they were fruit.

I've seen people put it on cantaloupe and honeydew, but never watermelon.

Pfft, technically a tomato is a fruit, but we all know it is a vegetable. I put salt on my tomatoes and stuff when I have them on burgers, but not when they're in a salad or something.

As for putting salt on fruits, nope, never do it. Fruits are citrusy usually, adding salt to that sounds gross.

I never put it on watermelon, but I did a few times with apples because my dad did it.

That's just it though: She eats them with salt as is. Not on something else... as if it were an apple.

I think a lot of people put salt on mangoes as well.

I always put salt on apples. Got that habit from my grandma. I put a little sugar in my big beans too.

Yeah I salt tomatoes as well. Very tasty especially if they're from my mom's garden.

I tried salt on a watermelon slice once and hated it. Fruit is supposed to be sweet, not salty!

Fruits are usually sweet. Why put salt on something sweet? And if u do, why not put salt on chocolate? Cheese cake? Ice cream? lollypop?
