    Appreciate Your Parents

I normally dont post personal stuff here but I do consider this a home away from home. So today I come in to say that this past Sunday I lost my mother to Cancer. She was diagnosed almost a year ago with breast cancer and was given a good prognosis. How ever after completing her last round of radiation therapy she started having pains in her side. She was hospitalized and after some test it was determined that some how the cancer had spread to her liver. Thankfully I was able to talk to her and spend time with her before she died. I will say to anyone who still has their parents Love them and appreciate them everyday cause you never know when they might be taken from you.

      Sorry to hear that bro.
Cancer is an ugly disease and if they ever find a cure for it this world would be better off, too many people have it, way too common and that's the scary thing.
My wife had cervical cancer a few years back and she is only 29 now, it does not matter how young or old you are.
Wish you the best through the tough times.

I'm really sorry for your loss. It is good you were able to spend some time with her at the end. You will always have the memories, while it may not be as good as having the person around, at least you will always have those.

I am sorry to hear that, it is always hard to lose a parent. I lost my Father when I was 12 and my Mother isn't exactly in the best health herself right now and I am really worried about her.

As I get older (23) I realize that a lot of those "sayings" hold SO TRUE

In this case: You never know what you have until it's gone.

I wish you the best man. As Davin said, nobody can take those memories away from you.

I'm so sorry, man...but no matter how sorry we are - we can't bring her back. I got very sad reading your post and I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes (I really am!). Thanks for encouraging people to appreciate their parents because we all need some1 to remind us of this. The thing is, I do love my parents and believe it or not, but the past few years I started thinking about them as older people and that they don't have too many good years to live. My dad is turning 61 on October and my mom is turning 57 (they were born on the same day...). Yeah, they're not that old but I can see them aging and I compare their faces to what it used to be 5-7-10 years ago and I don't know what to do... I'm angry at myself for not kissing them when I see them (they live just 1.5 mile away from me) but I just kinda got used to not kissing them. It's bad and hopeully I'll stop that, oh and the last time I saw them I kissed them for the first time in a while, because I think about them more these days and I'm even imagining one of them dying - because I know it will happen some day. So I'm appreciating the moments I spend with them, even though I haven't been getting along with me dad for years. Still, I love them and do miss them...I think my wife and me will go there on Saturday to have lunch with them, we really love my mom's food!
Thank u sir for encouraging us spending more time with our parents, and again sorry for everything u're going through.
                  God bless you.

Sorry to hear that bro. Cancer is a bitch. Took my 10 year old cousin. Just not fair, and you are right about our parents.. The one thing I realize the older I get the older my parents get. I guess that's life.
