It's weird to me that there's so many people who haven't heard it before.

I don't hear it everyday, but it is kinda weird seeing some people have never heard it before. Maybe age is playing a factor?

Okay...serious old man question here. I've heard and read more and more of people using the phrase "in a minute" to describe a lengthy amount of time that has passed between events.

I've heard the phrase "in a minute" quite a bit. Although when she was saying it, I didn't know that my fiance' was starting a new trend.

The one she used all the time was "I'll be ready in a minute."

Yeah my black students have me saying it now. I guess it is a black thing. I say it all the time now. It dives my wife nuts. Usually I will say he has been here for a minute.

I probably started saying it when I was in the 7th grade which would be... at least 7-8 years ago. It's been around for a HOT minute.

LOL. I've always said this too (I'm black, but I think you guys know that).

HOT minute is my favorite, as to describe to temperature of how long you havent done/seen something. That's funny.
