I don't hear it everyday, but it is kinda weird seeing some people have never heard it before. Maybe age is playing a factor?

Get over yourself. A little innocent saying like this gets you all greasy??? Please. I think it's time to loosen up. Go grab yourself a Bailey's on the rocks. You'll feel better.

I've heard the phrase "in a minute" quite a bit. Although when she was saying it, I didn't know that my fiance' was starting a new trend.

The one she used all the time was "I'll be ready in a minute."

Yeah my black students have me saying it now. I guess it is a black thing. I say it all the time now. It dives my wife nuts. Usually I will say he has been here for a minute.

But it is so true though. I say it all the time. It is what it is! It doesn't get move simple than that.

I probably started saying it when I was in the 7th grade which would be... at least 7-8 years ago. It's been around for a HOT minute.

LOL. I've always said this too (I'm black, but I think you guys know that).

HOT minute is my favorite, as to describe to temperature of how long you havent done/seen something. That's funny.

I've heard it used for short amounts of time but never in the context of a longer time. Interesting.

No sweat off my azz if you want to sound like an imbecile. Really.

What exactly does this innocent saying of deep, transcendental philosophy -- "It is what it is" -- mean? Enlighten me.
