    Ingenious

Local manager of a gas station may have pulled off the perfect crime. he disconnected the computer to the home office (had no idea they worked like that). It was used to record how much gas was sold. He then sold the gas @ a discount, but you had to pay cash. Of course, w/gas the way it is, it sold out quick once word got out. After a week he left town w/almost 300 grand.

Not just the way he stole the money. But if he is caught, how many potential jurors are going to be sympathetic w/the gas crisis like it is? He didn't rob a gas station w/a gun. Didn't break & enter. And gave everyone a break on fuel. And who was robbed? Big Money Oil. He would likely find @ least one guy who'd want to get back @ "The Man".

I can't condone it. But still.........

    Brilliant!!!

Except (if this story is even true) he'd be wanted on charges of grand theft and likely enjoy a very long prison sentence where he'll likely be raped in the butthole repeatedly.

The thought that it's acceptable because he was stealing from a company with a lot of money is downright communism. Stealing from anyone is illegal, and all thieves are punk bitches.

Hopefully for the man's sake, he spent all of his money on drugs and hookers, because property won't be too helpful where he's going.

I wonder how much of a hero he would be if the Gas company has video surveillance of the cars who got gas and then came after you to get their money back. Not that they will, but the people bought a stolen item, the Gas company could get their gas back if they wanted too. It would be a bad PR move though.

The oil companies have a right to their money just as much as we do. That's the nature of free-market capitalism. The oil company executives work their butts off everyday to drill for the oil we use everyday. Instead of sticking it to them, we should be thankful somebody researches and drills for the oil that they do, the oil which is necessary for our everyday life. Without them, we would not have any oil so I have no hard feelings towards big oil. As Ronald Reagan said, "Entrepreneurs and their small enterprises are responsible for almost all the economic growth in the United States."

Blame the high prices of oil on the high gas taxes, low value of the dollar, speculation by investors, China, and the fact that we could be nearing peak oil. Oh, and the fact that the environmentalists won't let us drill in such places as ANWR and won't let us build refineries. And hope that Congress doesn't drive the price of gas up another $1-2 due to the cap and trade bill.

As Ronald Reagan said, "Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them. Governments tend not to solve problems, only to rearrange them."

actually, a lot of gas stations aren't actually owned by big oil companies. Individual franchise owners or outside companies pay for the rights to use the name BP, Exxon, or Shell on their station, and distribute their gas. Even Exxon recently announced they are selling off the remaining stations they actually own because they hardly make any money with them.

So this isn't stealing a small amount of money from big oil at all. It's likely stealing from some lower company or even an individual franchise owner.

Can you please tell me how an "entrepreneurs and their small enterprises" can get a foothold in the oil industry?

I also think two Ronald Reagan quotes in one post has got to be an OS first.

I would respond, but I don't want to get political, and what point would it serve anyways? You've already made up your mind (and at such a young age )

Gotta love Ronald Reagan quotes, LOL!

I probably better lay off the political talk here, too, before I get an infraction.
