    Tuesday Morning Other Stuff (6-24-08)

Well, I almost blew it last night, although I'm starting to wonder if she already knows. It was 1:00 A.M. and my daughter was in the sleep zone. I reach under her pillow to grab her tooth she just lost and was ready to put her "tooth fairy" money under the pillow, when she wakes up and says, "Um, Daddy... What are you doing?"... "Oh, I was just making sure you didn't forget to put your tooth under your pillow Nat." Ugh, I think I blew it, but she seemed pretty excited this morning, when she saw the money. So, I'm not quite sure she knows or not, but it was a close encounter last night, for sure.

    What's up with you?
    • QOTD: So, how old were you when you stopped believing in the tooth fairly, Santa, etc.?

Happy Birthday to the following OS'er!

QOTD: I don't remember when I stopped believing in Santa Claus, but for my oldest son it was around age 11 (5th grade). Before that if he heard rumors and would ask if there is a Santa, I'd say, "Well, what do you think?" While he wasn't sure he'd say yes. What was nice was that when he did figure it out he did not spoil it for his 2 younger siblings.
I know my daughter (12) didn't believe any more last year, but she wouldn't say it. Honestly, I think its because she thinks she'd get less presents if she told us!
    Our youngest (9) still believes.

With our trip to Europe next week, one of those portable 360's would be great for the plane ride. Guess I'll have to settle for my Gameboy Advance instead.

QOTD: I seem to remember being in 4th grade when I stopped believing in Santa, Easter Bunny, etc.

QOTD: I figured it out around age 8 when I found some of my gifts in a closet. I don't remember when I stopped believing in the Tooth Fairy.

QOTD: 4th or 5th grade because I caught my Dad putting the money under for the tooth. After that, my world was rocked. No more Easter Bunny, no more Santa.

Whenever I lost a tooth, my mom said it would be safer to put my tooth on my desk in my room instead of under my pillow. I never thought about it until just now, but I guess she knew I'd wake up if it was under my pillow.

QOTD: I stopped believing in that stuff by around 8-9, I think.

My daughter has two of her front bottom teeth loose (seem like they been loose for the longest!) we're just waiting for them to fall out so we can do the tooth fairy thing.

QOTD: I don't know how long I really believed in the tooth fairy. Inflation has really set in. I got a quarter for a lost tooth, every single younger kid I've ever talked to gets at least a dollar, up to ten.

Santa didn't last long at all. When I was four, I had the idea to stay up and watch for santa. But then when my mom and dad told me to go to bed, I just played in my room for a little bit, then went back into the living room (from the setup of my house, it was possible to go into a spot they could not see me) and watched them put presents under the tree. I didn't go tell everybody because when I asked my parents they told me if I told my sister (who was 4 years older) I would get grounded.

Like everyone around 7-9 I think....eventually you find Christmas gifts in a closet from "Santa" and you ask questions...I didn't buy "Oh, we're helping Santa out, he's got such a busy job!"
