    Are You Happy?

    How do you know?

Are you lying to yourself when you say Yes?

Are you lying to yourself when you say No?

Should we strive to be happy, or is just being alive good enough?

    Hedonism? Nihilism? Solipsism?

Sometimes I don't like it here. Sometimes I do. Often I'm just wandering.

    Yes.

    You don't.

    Yes.

    No.

    Happy.

    All of the above.

    Maybe. Sometimes. All the time.

Most of the time i am now, i didnt used to be happy

How do you know? Quality of life has changed

Are you lying to yourself when you say Yes? Not currently

Are you lying to yourself when you say No? I said i was happy damnit

Should we strive to be happy, or is just being alive good enough? Why do they have to be mutually exclusive?

I feel the same way. When I'm home I am happy, anytime I could spend with the wife and my kids I am happy, but when I know I have to come to this stupid job I sure as hell am unhappy too.

I feel I'm pretty happy. I used to be depressed, but now I have direction and a wonderful girlfriend who wants to make me happy and confident, and I've changed in the way I am and the way I look at the world.

                  Re: Are You Happy?

                  Well, I don't think I'm happy.

I'm very appreciative... I mean, I know I've got a good life, a good job/future career, a good family with decent money, go to a good school, have (generally) good health, etc... every reason to be happy.

There's just something personal (I know what it is) that's keeping me from being happy. I know it can be corrected and I've worked hard to do so, I'm just not there yet.

I'm fortunate to have good health, a decent job, good wife and kids. Most of that came as a result of being responsible, doing the next right thing.

                        Re: Are You Happy?

                        Are you happy? Honestly, no.

How do you know? Because, I'm not happy most of the time?

Are you lying to yourself when you say Yes? I said "No."

Are you lying to yourself when you say No? Nope.

Should we strive to be happy, or is just being alive good enough? Being alive should be good enough, but happiness is what makes life worth living.

                          Re: Are You Happy?

I had a very near death experience about 15 years ago, was on death's doorstep and came back and it was a long road back. As far as I'm concerned, I'm playing with house money right now.

Either get busy livin' or get busy dyin'.

So I'm pretty happy for the most part. I have a good family, a nice new house, and a good job. The most upset I usually get on a daily basis is when the Tigers blow another game. If something isn't going to matter a month from now, I don't care about it right now. Once you let go of the little BS that can drive you crazy, life gets alot easier.

Truthfully, not really. There are a lot of times when I just lay around doing nothing thinking about what's wrong in my life. I mean my life is pretty good, but I feel like I'm missing something.
