Re: LOL, When did this start?
I've never heard anyone talk like that.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: LOL, When did this start?
I've never heard anyone say those words. I'm in highschool, and I hear people talk regularly, maybe it's just the young teens that talk like that, I'm not sure. I don't think talking like that would make someone cool, I think most people would just laugh at them if they talked like that.Comment

Re: LOL, When did this start?
That bothers me. My girlfriend will sometimes let those things slip in front of me. I ask her every time, "Is it just THAT hard to pronounce the rest of the word so I have an idea what the hell you are talking about?". "Fave", "Legit" and others I just can't remember right now. It is a pet peeve of mine.

Re: LOL, When did this start?
I've heard it before. Teenagers do this and apparently it's the in-thing to do. Cut off words that should never be cut off.
It's annoying and makes me fear for the future of our language."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: LOL, When did this start?
Man, I remember back in the day when people got on city kids for leavin' off just the last couple letters of words. Now it's cool to not even say half the word! Man, times have changed...[NYK|DAL|VT]

Re: LOL, When did this start?
I say lolz, "rofl", and "el oh el" relatively often. Granted, I'm being sarcastic, witty, and culturally relevant when I do it, but I do it.Comment

Re: LOL, When did this start?
I'll say something like roffle (rofl) but only online as a joke. Because people get it.
To say it to people with in front of my face? I would ask that anyone I know kill me right there."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied.
