    LOL, When did this start?

So im channel surfing and I come across some teen show ...I dont know what makes me stop but I do...

anyway, I hear these kids talking and theyre saying half words instead of whole ones now...

    like "awes" instead of awesome
    "hilar" instead of hilarious

is this how certain people talk now? or just teens? or what? Ive never heard people talk like that before....

I 'd like to know what show it is too....and if teens are talking like this now I blame it on the abreviation craze of the internet.

In 20 years you're not gonna be able to recognize your language. I'd be worried if I were you.

Only ones I have ever is "Whatevs" instead of "Whatever."

And only teenage high-school girls and my roommate from last year said it.

That bothers me. My girlfriend will sometimes let those things slip in front of me. I ask her every time, "Is it just THAT hard to pronounce the rest of the word so I have an idea what the hell you are talking about?". "Fave", "Legit" and others I just can't remember right now. It is a pet peeve of mine.

                      OH MY GOD!

Teenagers are using slang words and incorrect grammar? We must put a stop to this immediately!

Hey im only 23 man, in here sounding like a oldtimer....but this particular kind of slang (which has been pointed out that to be basically isolated to this show, thank god) just made me laugh....

It's not really going against the grain. It's realizing that every age group that has ever existed has had some stupid slang.

It was more directed at this comment "In 20 years you're not gonna be able to recognize your language. I'd be worried if I were you."

But I'm assuming that you were watching Disney, and yes, they do make up their own slang to further their brands (and it's different for every show). I'd assume that most other networks that copy Disney would do the same. Think of it like Dipset pushing their stupid language. Yes, a few impressionable idiots copy it, but for the most part, people ignore it.

Well I blame it on their laziness. Look, I'm on the Internet as much as the next guy, and I've seen all of the abbreviations. I don't know how it is they do it on the Internet so often (it seems harder, in fact), and furthermore, I don't know how it is they translate it to real life conversations.

                              Actually, I blame MTV.
