I would buy $100,000,000 worth of beef jerky.
If you won $100 million, how would you spend your money?

Re: If you won $100 million, how would you spend your money?
Let's see if I can break this down:
- $25 million invested
- $25 million into a savings account
- $5 million to my parents
- $1 million to both of my sisters
- $1 million to my to my aunt & uncle in Columbus
- $5 million to start my own record label
- $2 million on cars (a BWM, a Bentley, and at least a Ferrari)
- $1 million on a house
- $1 million on expenses (car insurance, house utilities, etc)
- $1 million on "toys" (electronics, etc)
- $1 million to Kent State University (after I drop out)
- $1 million to the University of South Carolina (Only went there for a semester, but I still love it)
- $10 million to various charities
- $500,000 on appearance (new wardrobe, personal trainer, etc)
That leaves me w/ $19.5 million that I don't know what to do with just yet.Comment

Re: If you won $100 million, how would you spend your money?
This is a great discussion question. I've thought about this during boring meetings at work.
Quit my job.
Buy a big old house on Lake Erie.
Give my and my wife's family money in trusts that are conditional on things like paying off mortgages, paying for education, etc. so that they don't blow the money on stupid stuff.
Travel, but not as much as my wife will want to.
Buy season tickets for Browns, Cavs, Indians, Gladiators, and Dayton Flyers (if I don't use tickets, I'll give them to friends or donate them to charity).
Create an ultimate man cave for gaming, movies, etc.
Do volunteer work and coach kids sports.
Invest the rest of the money.
I've also thought about hiring a trainer and coach to see if I could walk-on to a college basketball team. I'm not sure what the interest level in a 31 year old with 4 years of eligibility would be, but I could make a nice donation to the school.Comment

Maybe not where you live, where the cost of living is higher; there's plenty of nice houses not far from me in Raleigh, where the prices are around $1 mil. In fact, I saw Sidney Lowe jogging near his house last week; I think his house (which looks like a small mansion) is valued around a million.Comment

And, now that you say that, I'm pretty sure there was a thread on almost this exact same topic awhile back that Clay started.Comment
