I'm not saying this guy was a serial killer, but his actions would lead me to believe he had similar thought patterns. And yes serial killers usually are very intelligent, but a majority of the time, their first murder is not thought out or planned, it is more likely they have the oppertunity and take it. It's not a black and white discussion, I just have a feeling that there is no way this guy would have ever killed someone with a gun. Who's to say this is the first time this guy has even killed? Maybe this wasn't the first time he's killed but he just couldn't live with the pressure of what he did and he wanted to go out a legend, most serial killers have dillusions of greatness and most think they're abouve their victims. Like I said this is just the way I feel after taking into account what I could find out about the guy. I think as more and more goes on, we'll find out some very disturning things about this guy, but maybe not.

Lol, how can anyone take anything you type on this issue seriously when you contradict yourself so badly just a few pages earlier in this thread-

"Naw it had to be random. When it's something so over the top like this, it's always random, the dude was crazy, probably heard voices and just snapped, from what the witnesses have said, he was mechanical, robot like while doing it. I'd be amazed if they did know each other."

So now on page seven you want to label this individual as having a complicated serial killer mentality (based off of no concrete evidence mind you) and criticize others with differing opinions as people who had not conducted adequate research? Staying true to your original post my feelings on the incident (the individual snapping and killing someone randomly) were very much validated. Thus, him carrying a more lethal weapon would likely result in more individual deaths. This of course is based off of factual information and not blind hunches that are liable to change from moment to moment.

There's no template on serial killers. Most of the "serial killers" don't even let themselves be profiled or whatever. You learn this crap in intro to criminology classes.

You posted that their first murder most often is not thought out or planned, when it's most often quite the opposite. In the begining most serial killers are methodical and careful and then later when their compulsion is out of control they become more impulsive than careful so they are more likely to be caught.
