My dog is sick.

My buddy Charlie, who is a 1 year old Toy fox/Jack Russell mix isn't doing to well. Right now he is at the Vet because he might have an obstruction in his stomach or intestines. I should know in an hour or so if he does. If in fact that's the case he will need surgery to remove it.

I am really upset right now. Hoping for the best but expecting the worst. He is the first dog that has ever been mine, and I love him so much. I really hope he doesn't need surgery, if he does It will cost a ton, which we don't have. Our only hope is that the Vet will take payments. My wife works at the Humane Society and this is the vet that they use, so her co-workers are confident they will take payments.

Sorry for the ramble, I know people have bigger problems but if you could throw out a prayer or 2 for Charlie I would appreciate it.

Sorry to hear pjv...

My buddy usually takes his pets to Orphans of the Storm for medical care and it is ridiculously cheap. One of his malamutes had surgery and it was around $300, which is not bad, and the medical work was very good.

Good luck and I hope the best turns out for your dog.

You should also consider pet insurance in the future if it is in your budget. My friend paid $3,000+ for a surgery a while back and since I got mine, I got insurance for him.

pj, I'm sorry to hear this news about your dog's illness. I'll be praying for him but i'm very optimistic that this will go well. I'm a dog lover also, my wife and I have a Pekingnese and Dachsund. I was scared when they got fixed (a common surgery) but it just brings out the love for your pets.

I just got word from the vet. It is an obstruction and he will have the surgery in about an hour or 2. The vet said the prognosis is good, and once its removed he should be fine.

pjv, sorry to hear that man. Keep us updated on how your dog is doing after the surgery and best of luck.

My in-laws lab died on Saturday night, it was hit by a car. My father-in-law is taking it really hard.

Just got back from seeing him before he went into surgery. He was so pitiful. The Vet said they would call us around 9 or 10 tonight to let us know how he is doing.
