Title speaks for itself. What was the first date that you and your ____ (GF/WIFE) went on. How was it? Did you see THEN that it was going to turn out to be something good?

Currently Single, but I'll post the first date me and the Ex-GF went on.

We went to a local dairy stand for some ice cream. We sat on a picnic table and talked for about an hour. I was only on my Lunch/Dinner break from work, so ended up being late coming back.

It was a wonderful time. It's just too bad that things didn't work out. Looking back I think it was for the best..

We went to Ruby Tuesdays because it was right up the street from my job, left there and went to a little kids party for one of her friends at a skating rink *that was the worse*. Walmart to buy some dog food... and then...

Me and my current gf went out to a movie then dinner. We saw Wanted, which was very good, we both really liked it. Then, we went and ate at Texas Roadhouse. So far we've only been going out a month, but shes someone I can see myself getting serious with.

Me and my gf's first date was interesting. She had just moved here from Vermont so she was new to city life. So I did what anyone would do. I took her to the the city had dinner went bar hopping then back to her friends place who she was staying with for more drinks.

Woke up late for work but it was all worth it as I was able to get some morning .....

My boss understood so it was a win win

My wife and I had our first date on Leap Day in 1996, February 29th. We went and saw Happy Gilmore and ate dinner at Mary's Restaurant. We sat at table #43 and I wore a green cotton ribbed long sleeved shirt (she made me remember all this). And of course I was driving my 1981 Camaro with red interior. Boy I miss that car. And here we are over 12 years later.


I still can't believe Happy Gilmore came out 12 years ago, seems like yesterday.

On the first date, my wife and I went to a coffee shop on Oct 26th, 2005. We parked the car across the street and sat in the car for about an hour and talked, and it was such fun! We already knew it was going very well. Everything was so calmed an fun, we really enjoyed it. Then we went into the coffee shop and sat there for about an hour and had a great time.

I met my wife at a bowling alley (we met online, she was 27, i was 25). We went bowling, something where we could be a little active, but still talk and joke around. That went well, so we went to Chili's grabbed a few drinks, and i took her back to her car. We both are fairly conservative, so nothing else happened, but i thought after the first date i would never see her again. I had a blast, she just didnt seem that interested (and i joke around with her about that all the time). It all worked out, 3 years later and weve been married for 2months (and counting)

Currently single, but I'll try to remember how it went with my recent ex of 2 years...


We didn't initially do your typical "dinner and a movie" thing. The first time I hung out with just her was one time when we simply went to the mall. I was planning on going with a guy friend of mine, but he couldn't make it. So I was talking to this girl on AIM and she asked what I was up to and I replied that I was going to go to the mall but that my friend couldn't go. So I was like "Do you want to fill in for ____ tonight?" And she agreed. So we just went to the mall and came home. I don't think I bought anything. Maybe a drink or something. We didn't kiss or anything... just hung out, just the two of us.

She came over a few days/weeks later to watch a Steeler playoff game at my house too. Nothing major. No money spent, obviously. We just hung out with my parents, played with my nephew and watched the game.

The next time, I went to her house and picked her up and we went to Wal-Mart to buy a puzzle to build and look at the pet fish (exciting... I know). Virtually no money spent (I might have payed for the puzzle). So we went back to her house, built the puzzle, talked, hung out... I made my move on her that night, and the rest is history. We hung out again the next night--this time with her friends--and started officially dating 3 or 4 days later.

She came over a few days/weeks later to watch a Steeler playoff game at my house too. Nothing major. No money spent, obviously. We just hung out with my parents, played with my nephew and watched the game.

On our first official "date" (we had met at a bar and met up at bars and parties a few times after that), my wife and I went to see the immortal "Dead Man on Campus" starring Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselar).

The first date my wife and I went on was to a restaurant called Vermont Pub & Brewery. Our anniversary is next weekend, I think we'll go up to Vermont for the day and go there.

My first date with my girlfriend was meeting at Starbucks and then hitting the new Mexican place in that mall (Blue Agave Cantina I think it was)...2nd date was a DBacks game.

My first date with mywife, she stood me up. We were supposed to go to a comics show with some people from ComicView. i got to her house and her step dad told me she had gone to some local fair with her mom.

Eventually though we made it to a regular dinner and a movie type thing. I think we went to go see American Beauty.
