You mean nonsense like that? I hate that mess too but at the same time it is kind've funny because you got a grown(supposedly)person still typing a 12 year old.

Accidental spelling errors don't bother me. It's the slang that bothers me. Spelling errors are the result of laziness and on an internet message board, I don't expect others to go the extra mile to make sure their grammer and spelling would receive an A in a college english class. I sure as hell don't. I try to make my point and that is it. However, with slang and purposefully misspelled words, my first thought is that this is someone who is intentionally trying to sound ignorant and I just don't get that. Why would you ever want to dumb yourself down or put others in a situation where they think you are dumb and ignorant.

I don't think anyone looks at someone who is saying "wat u doing 2nite?" and think to themselves, "now there goes someone who is cool"

Yeah, I hate the wall of text that some people love to put up.

yeah, more than anything this is my biggest complaint. A giant block of text means I'm not reading what you just posted. It's not hard to use paragraphs or even press the return button every once in a while.

That's the same way I feel fellas. I only made this thread because this is around the time we get a lot of new posters in the forums that I visit often(NCAA,Madden,NBA Live, NBA 2K).

I type fast at times so I make mistakes but I mean some of these posts I see are downright comical and I feel bad because I know they will get over looked or not taken seriously because they are not worded properly. When I first came to OS I didn't see the big deal with not speaking properly, but being here for years I see what a difference it makes. I mean, some people are already not paying you any mind because of your post count, and then on top of that your response is not worded correctly, I mean, I just wanted to know what other guys thought as well. I hope some mods post their thoughts too.

it don't bother me none, nah mean? I speak like this at work, school, to my parents, etc. I'm too hood to even fathom (ya'll ain't think i knew dat word, huh?) speakin any other way, feel me? It's like this yo, imma type like this regardless of if ya gon peep the gems i'm tryna spit at ya'll or not.. if you read it, you read it, if u don't.. be damned, dig me? It's too real out here for me to even put it in a post but imma always keep it 100 when i type on this message board thing. What you see, is what you get, and that's real talk.

3 situations that bother me:
- Someone tries to correct someone or tries to come across as intelligent, and then just posts a grammatical disaster (best of all is when someone spells "grammar" wrong, haha)
- The use of "z" instead of "s". I want to beat people with their keyboards when they do that.
- When people make the effort to type like they speak w/ their slang and whatnot

The best is when some dude tries to be a smart *** and corrects a poster's spelling while making dumb mistakes himself.

There's a difference between slang and ignorance. You can usually tell the difference after reading a few posts.

Its just a gaming website, so I really dont care how people type as long as I can make out what they are saying.

I think sometimes people can take themselves just a tad bit too serious on sites like this.

I can deal with a few mistakes in grammar, but the slang, the wall of words, and not using any capitalization or punctuation marks drive me nuts!!!
