There's no excuse for incorrect punctuation, grammar, or spelling.

An occasional typo is okay, but I'm a stickler for it. I'll think less of someone if they type with "u" instead of "you" and other things like that. I can't take people's points seriously when they don't construct their posts in an organized and legible fashion.

Maybe it's just me, maybe it's the laziness, maybe it's just ridiculous. Either way, it's annoying as ****.

I hate text type. Does it really take that much effort to type '2' instead of 'to'? Its just stupidity.

I literally refuse to read posts that use the letter u in place of the word you, I'll say that much.

Otherwise, it's sort of touch and go: it depends on how the post is written; sometimes I'll make an effort, if it's written by someone whose first language is not English, for example. If it's clearly just an idiot who doesn't care in the slightest if his post can be comprehended by the masses, then **** him.

Well, it's not my native language, but I do think that writing properly is important. That's why I stopped usuing: u, u'll etc.

Nope...Don't care about people's spelling.

The best is when some dude tries to be a smart *** and corrects a poster's spelling while making dumb mistakes himself.

That's why I never try to correct anybody. With my luck that'll be the time I butcher the sentence

Yes it does, spelling mistakes, or grammatical errors are fine, but going out of your way to look like a buffoon is not. Maybe I'm just too picky, but I hold the people I hang around with to a higher standard.

Accidental spelling errors don't bother me. It's the slang that bothers me. Spelling errors are the result of laziness and on an internet message board, I don't expect others to go the extra mile to make sure their grammer and spelling would receive an A in a college english class. I sure as hell don't. I try to make my point and that is it. However, with slang and purposefully misspelled words, my first thought is that this is someone who is intentionally trying to sound ignorant and I just don't get that. Why would you ever want to dumb yourself down or put others in a situation where they think you are dumb and ignorant.

I don't think anyone looks at someone who is saying "wat u doing 2nite?" and think to themselves, "now there goes someone who is cool"

I agree. I don't care in an aim conversation or any instant messaging because usually that person really knows me anyway, or knows me well enough. On a message board though, especially OS, I try to speak as well as I can.

It does get rather annoying seeing abbreviated or purposely misspelled words, and I usually ignore it. Especially seeing replies such as "wat?" or anything along those lines.

I guess it's funny to 14 year olds, but it just gets frustrating seeing more and more people type like that.

And yes, I also ignore posts with the big honkin wall of text.

As long as I can make out what the poster is saying I'm fine.

I hate it when people start nitpicking for grammatical mistakes. This is a gaming forum, not an english paper or a work related document.

Proving your smart enough to correct someone you don't know on the proper use of a verb is a waste of our time and usually leads to taking the argument places it doesn't belong.
