I can't help but to chuckle after seeing things like that.
Something that if you keep reading it, it gets so much more awesome.

Re: What in the world is going on here at OS....

OS seems to be in shambles with every release of a game. When Madden came out, the Madden forum was a disaster. When NBA 2K came out, that forum was a disaster. There are still people just posting things that are quite idiotic and clogging up the forums. People need to report more to get these threads closed/deleted and users warned/banned.

Heck, we even have people making threads about "Why did [insert username here] get banned?!?! He was cool!"

Those threads are plain awful. I agree that something should be done about making threads, but it seems that the solutions actually create a problem in of themselves.

Every thread created needs to be submitted to and approved by a mod or site administrator... problem solved.

          Holy 2+ year old bump!!

Anyway, it's just the nature of the beast. New releases will always bring about a surge of new members, half of whom will only post a few times then disappear as quickly as they came. Just something that has to be dealt with.

Just a guess, but I imagine that to be an overwhelming task to staff here.

Only in the beginning... once word spreads that this is how the site is operated, the nonsense and idiots will quickly find other forums.

If this ever became a rule the first thing I'd do is quit modding, the 2nd would be quit coming to OS.

People just need to report more, we've got more mods than ever.

Well, unfortunately, a) members DON'T do that and b) very few mods are as proactive as yourself.

Tapatalk is growing around here, find out how to do a report button on it. I browse from my phone a lot more than my actual computer now, that's why I don't report as much as I used to.

This would solve a problem, but I think it creates more.

The reality is: People use the internet for instant gratification. If members are forced to sit and wait for a mod to approve their thread or post, those members will just stop waiting and move elsewhere.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer
