Anyone Had A Vasectomy?
If so, how was the recovery? I'm only 26 now, but I've seriously been contemplating getting this done at some point in the near future. I like children but I really don't want any of my own. I enjoy the freedom of only having myself worry to worry about and I want to make sure it stays that way. Anybody have any experience with this?Tags: None -
Re: Anyone Had A Vasectomy?
seems like an incredibly short sighted decision to me. Are you married? You still are extremely young. I would probably consider a vasectomy if you were like 40....not 26. -

Many guys aren't interested in having a family at all at your age. Many men don't have kids until they are in their 30's. I wouldn't do it now if I were you.WUSTLComment

Re: Anyone Had A Vasectomy?
My brother had a vasectomy in his late 20's or early 30's (he's 35). It was a while ago, but I vaguely remember him saying it was hard to walk and move for a few days.
He already has four kids, so I understand why he did it. You're still very young, and you might change your mind in the future.Comment

Re: Anyone Had A Vasectomy?
As far as it being a short sighted decision, I can see how you might think that. People have asked me countless times what if I change my mind. I understand that it's permanent and that's something that I can accept. I'm not one to ponder "what ifs" after making a choice. Why be forced into parenthood for the rest of your life when you don't have to. I don't want any accidents and this will ensure that it doesn't happen.Comment

Re: Anyone Had A Vasectomy?
Unless you're married, it seems like a really, really stupid decision.
If you're just going to be beating on random hoes, you'll probably still going to be wrapping it up either way, so that's kind of pointless. If you will be going in raw once you get it cut, then you're an idiot.Comment

Re: Anyone Had A Vasectomy?
I say get one after you think you have had enough kids. I thinking of having one. I am 37, but I wanted one more child. Now that I have my two. I am done. I know a lot of friend that had this done in their early 30's

Re: Anyone Had A Vasectomy?
Nope I'm not married. I'm not 100% sold on the idea of ever doing that either. If I do decide to get married at some point it would have to be to a woman who doesn't want kids. If she couldn't accept that then she'd have to find someone else.

Re: Anyone Had A Vasectomy?
It's not about having sex with women and not using condoms. Like you said, I'd still be wrapping it up regardless. I don't care about leaving a "legacy" or anything like that. Children are cool for those that want one, but it's a responsibility that I don't want for a number of reasons. Having a child just because society says I should doesn't mean **** to me.Comment

Re: Anyone Had A Vasectomy?
Since it's a fairly recent proceedure, the medical comminity doesn't really know how it will affect folks in later life...
I've read recently that they are now linking it to dementia in older men, which should be a 'deal breaker' in and of itself...
Google it, the articles started coming about six months to a year ago on the above...Comment
