Just when you thought you've seen it all...

A big story is shocking my country. 4.5 y/o girl is missing. So far sounds "usual" (if we can call it that). But today the police finally exposed some of the facts, or should I say maybe-facts (I'll explain right away).
This story started to spread only a few days ago but it turned out that the girl disappeard 3 months ago. BUT(!!!) it was reported to the police only 2 weeks ago! But that's not what's shocking, so here is the story:
The Child's (called Rose) parents got divorced a few years ago. Her father, along with her, moved to France and married another woman. The new mother apperantly abused the girl in some ways (don't really know what happened there) and the girl was ill at that time, so the father sent her to Israel to be with her family here.
Now listen to this(!!!): Her mother lives with the child's grandfather (the father's father) and if I'm not mistaken they have children (if that's true - WTF??????). The grandfather is pretty young (in his 40's) but it's still very very weird.
Now, According to the grandfater's story, one day he was driving the his and the girl started irritating him. He said he had smacked her and then found out that the hit killed her. So he put her body inside a suitcase and threw it to the Yarkon river (a well-known river here). The mother apparently had no idea about what had happened and said the grandfather (who she lives with) told her he had sent the girl to France.
BUT(!) The police has been searching for a body for days in this river and area - but found nothing! No one knows where the body is...
The grandfather told this story when the police arrested him, then said that something else happened, then said that this happened...etc.
The grandfather's mother is arrested in her house and today she held a press conference, mainly giving details about the grandfather (her son), the child and the mother.

So the situation is that no one really knows what happened, we don't know of the grandfather is the killer or maybe he's covering some one else in the family, and no body was found yet.

Looks like we'll find out more details during the following days...

This sounds like a crazy movie.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

We get story like that too in the States. Some people really should not have kids, or be shot before they can pro create. I know one thing this is a wicked place we live in.

That is indeed quite crazy. Hopefully all the facts come out soon.

Re: Just when you thought you've seen it all...

Many details were revelaed the week after the last post here but I wasn't in Israel so I didn't know. The grandfather changed his mind again and said the child was alive but he wouldn't tell where she was. But after a few days they found a red suitcase inside that small lake in the park with a body inside of it. After examing it - it was the child's body.
But here's what annoyed me: The grandfather demanded that there will be a family member in the room where they were making a post-death surgery. Who is he to say that!? He's probably the murderer (or protecting someone else) and he's got demands?! WTF?
There are still some facts I don't really know, but at least we know that it's over. At least the child's not gonna suffer anymore. RIP
