I know. I was just going to move on, but after going back to the basketball forums, I realized that this isn't something I can let go. I can't willingly participate on a forum until I know that this behavior is condemned.

While it's not the best decision to come out and say that on OS, especially knowing the rules and being a moderator, it is also his right to feel that way in his personal life. What you may call bigotry may just be his opinion on something that is a very hot button social issue.

That said, it's probably not my place to comment so I'll leave it at that.

What we personally believe as individuals and what we condone as a group(be it this forum, a neighborhood, a city or a country) are two different things.

First of all, shaking your head at homosexuality is bigotry, hands down. The economy is a social issue. Health Care is a social issue. Homosexuals are a minority, not a topic. They are people.

After your post, I really need to know if OS condones this.

Let me try it again...

Latin people are just....

Muslims are just.....

Blacks are just.....

How does that feel?

By all means, don't take my post as either a confirmation or condemnation of those views. You might want to talk to Fishy or Steve if you need to get an official opinion on the matter. I'm not qualified enough to give that opinion, heh.

I can not believe this forum would condone this behavior from one of its moderators, let alone one of its members. That was an extremely disappointing moment for Operation Sports. While we move closer and closer to a tolerant society, you have a moderator thumbing his nose at the gay minority.

I actually understand where your coming from even though I have strong religious beliefs (which are anti-homosexuality).

I would be upset if someone said the things you just said regarding Christianity here at OS, So I can understand why someone who is ok with homosexuality would be upset about some of the post made in that thread.

I thinks its just best that OS refrains from topics regarding religion, race, and sexual orientation. Those subjects are just way to sensitive. When I first came to OS I didn't know why it was such a big deal to have topics on those subjects but now I know why.

I think when were at OS, everyone regardless of beliefs should just have a truce. Outside of OS is a whole nother ball game though:wink:

That's definitely half of the point right there. If there are homosexuals reading this forum, that can be very hurtful. Even more hurtful is when others make it okay.

It's not about homosexuality. It's about condemning disdain towards any minority or belief system. That's the main issue of tolerance. You don't have to share the beliefs or practices of others, but you have to accept it as a part of humanity. Tolerance is reconciling the differences, not the commonalities.

Exactly. People are calling this an infraction. An infraction is namecalling in a Kobe vs. Lebron argument. This is far worse.

There's no hatred there & no intolerance.

Homosexuals chose to be homosexuals. Why else are there former homosexuals? Don't let the PC police fool you. There is zero proof its a product of DNA. I know the climate of the world today doesn't allow people to publicly talk about it w/out giving it our complete acceptance. So I wouldn't express what luv_mist said, knowing OS's policy on such subjects. But if the subject is brought up on a forum, people should be willing to let another opinion be voiced. The Constitution allows for freedom for all races, genders & creeds. Homosexuality falls under neither catergory, like it or not.

Now people will go around claiming people who agree w/the above hate gays or condone their persecution. Absolutely wrong. What they chose to do is their business. As long as they aren't infringing on the privacy & happiness of others, I have no problem w/what they chose to do. I've got my own problems to worry about.

You wanna hate me for my point of view, go on. But deny what I've said & you deny what you know is fact.

I wish more people would take my stance.

Some people like apples, some people dont but the ones that dont, dont belittle the ones that do.

Well some people like "the sausage" I dont, and a lot of people dont, but we shouldnt belittle the ones that do. its a difference between us, thats all, and it shouldnt be mocked.
