This happened in Phoenix a couple years ago when a pipeline busted in Texas. I think I waited in line for 3 and half hours for gas. It was mayhem for 3 weeks, gas stations were price gauging at 20 bucks a gallon!!!

The funniest thing was when people were following gas trucks all over town.

My dad just came home from Charlotte (where he flies out of). He said that the first open gas station on I-85 he saw was at the Huntersville exit, if I recall correctly. I'm not sure, though I believe that is what he said. He said that all the gas stations were shut down pass Huntersville and into Concord and Charlotte.

I found one yesterday @ $4.20/gal. They had a $25 limit but I did it twice. I had about 1/16th left. I think it was justified.

I grew up in Charlotte...my mom still lives there. To hear her tell it, cars were parked along the sides of roads everywhere out of gas, people walking all over town with gas cans trying to get a few gallons, lol.

We're not having that problem here in the Triad.

a lot of stations in Fort Worth/Dallas have run out of gas. Most of the Shell stations are empty.

You aren't the only city going through this.

Be glad you guys don't live in southeastern Louisiana, because every time a storm comes into the Gulf gas is scarce. People freak about gas prices going up and by freaking out they make the prices go up. Buying one tank of gas at $4 is not going to keep you from paying $7 a gallon if gas does explode overnight. You will eventually have to buy gas again.
