"El Bulli" near Barcelona.. so I can try some of Ferran and Albert Adria's crazy amazing food.

Can't help the OP with suggestions since I don't know anything in his area... but that's my answer to the question.

A Cheesecake Factory. I've been to Baltimore twice and haven't gotten over there to eat.

            Meh @ Cheesecake Factory

Unless you're a really big fan of cheesecake and don't know a nice bakery/restaurant in your area that does it well, there's really no point. It's a glorified "get every kind of food at one place" TGI Friday's type of restaurant in my view. The food is pretty good overall, but there are SO many other places that have better food and aren't a chain. We went there for a work gathering last week and the salmon that I was was well-cooked and everything, but nothing there is worthy of "writing home about" and the prices are as much as you'd pay at most non-chain places with comparable food quality. Search around and you'll find something better, I swear. Apparently it's the haunt of a lot of NBA players, so you might spot one of them... other than that, there's not really much there...

Seriously people, support your local restaurants... they're having hard times right now. Chili's and Outback will be there tomorrow because most of them are backed by gigantic multi-national corporations. Heh, although recently, that might not be such a sure thing either.

I may try to make it to his new LA one when I'm there in late Oct, but not sure if it'll happen.

                I concur with dk (wow).

Go to a nice steak joint or a nice italian place depending on what you like more.

Just got back from L.A. this past week and for anyone in the area you should head to Josie's in Santa Monica...use to be a chef and in my opinion its one the better high-end places I've been too.

Skewered seppie with merguez sausage, Braised short rib tajine, Buffalo burger stuffed with gruyere and topped with a piece of foie gras, stuffed quail w/ bacon pine nuts and golden raisins, and the bread pudding ....everything I mentioned is great.

                      Edit-

Plus the wine list is fantastic, and our waitor was pretty knowledgable.

I know where I wouldn't go and that is the Olive Garden, especially if your looking to top the night off with your wife.

As for where to eat, since you'll be in the area you should just stop by EG's house.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Thanks for the great suggestions guys. I went to that Smokey Bones once on 306 and it was awesome, so that is in the running, but that train place looks awesome. I may pick there.

The Wife and I had a really nice dinner at the Blue Canyon in Twinsburg.

We had a nice meal and two bottles of a nice German Riesling, and it only cost us about $75 with tip.
