Yeah, everyone seems to hate Americans, but after one minute you discover that they all try to immitate Americans as much as possible, listen to rap music and try to talk in American accent.

Re: Visting Europe For The First Time
Love New Belgium microbrew here (Fort Collins). Belgium is on top of my list for visiting Europe simply for the the 'candy shop' of alcohol.Belgium is known for its beer and chocolate. So have fun. Any local Belgian beer will basically blow your socks off. Nothing better than a Trappist beer, some mussels swimming in garlic/shallots/butter/white wine, pommes frites, and some crusty bread to sop it all up. I love Belgium.
If you end up in Amsterdam, I have lots of tips for that city. Only spent a short time in Belgium (Antwerp), but it's definitely a place I want to return to.Aaron

I'm thinking more and more that I will just that I will just stay in Brussels since that is where my hotel will be for my sightseeing day. If I do that I'm definitely going to check out the Grand Place.Belgium is known for its beer and chocolate. So have fun. Any local Belgian beer will basically blow your socks off. Re: Visting Europe For The First Time
Very interesting. 2 years ago I went to Europe for a soccer trip, we went to Brussells, scrimmaged a couple local teams, and did some sightseeing. It was pretty nice, lots of giant churches and some good shopping. We then drove up to Amsterdam to play in the Holland Cup, a soccer tournament. We were allowed to walk around the city the first day we were there, and it was pretty awesome. We saw little kids juggling the ball everywhere, and yes, we did go to the District. We saw the first sex shop and were like, what? Then saw that the whole district was perimeter by poles that looked like penises, then saw hookers, it was pretty sweet hahaha.Tomahawk Chopped - An FSU NCAA 11 Dynasty

Re: Visting Europe For The First Time
Heh, yeah... little kids walking with their grandmas past dildos and buttplugs in the sex shop window on their way to school is one of my favorite parts of Amsterdam.. nobody cares at all, and it's so refreshing compared to puritanical "somebody please think of the children!" America. Also, the red light windows that are outside the main red light district crack me up because it's randomly like "house, house, hooker, business, hooker, house, hooker, house" and they're usually just standing or sitting in the window looking bored, reading a book, while everyone else goes about their day on the street. I love that city.

My favorite area in the city, Haarlemmerstraat going towards Jordaan:
