I swear all the time, patience isn't one of my strong suits and they sure fly out of my mouth the second things start to annoy me.

But like most people, I try not to do it in front of kids or people I don't know.

Nah, I've never understood that either. The potty mouth in bed stuff. "ooooh, ooooh, you so strong G.I., you numba one boom boom". Nope, never understood it.

A person who curses generally has little control in life. You find they are the ones who have to apologize more often for a slip of the tongue. They also give the appearance of a small vocabulary.

completely agree, when people can only describe something with a F bomb, it says a lot about their intelligence level imo, not to mention it sounds stupid

Haha, the masking tape is classic. I don't think that cussing in bed is a turn off or anything, but I just don't find myself talking a whole lot while I'm down to business. I know for a fact that after a night of drinking I got "creative" vocabulary wise while going at it, but that's about the only time I can recall.

Oh I don't know about that man. I had a drill instructor, football coach, and grandmother who all mastered the art of swearing. They could go from brilliant words to gutter styled profanity in a matter of seconds, and somehow string it all together to make your ears witness some of the most beautiful cussing you could ever imagine.

I said "appearance". Richard Nixon was as intelligent as they come. But his language in the Watergate tapes did as much to drop his popularity as the scandal itself.

Re: What's your belief on swearing?

I usually only curse around friends, people I know, or if I'm alone and happen to stub my toe or something. Around strangers I try to keep it to the less offensive stuff like 'damn'. I definitely keep it clean around kids, although I had to go to an elementary school to volunteer a year back and I remember the kids on the playground dropping MF-bombs and whatnot.

Someone else said it before and I agree that it depends on context, especially when you hear someone else say it. A friend telling a joke might insert a few curse words in a story and make it that much funnier. On the other hand, I've heard people speak in sentences like "f'ing uh...Bryan..f'ing he went to the f'ing..." and it just sounds stupid.

I mostly curse when I'm alone or do it quietly. I'm not a person who would curse loud around people, unless I'm playing basketball or someting (which I hadn't done in 2.5 years).

Re: What's your belief on swearing?

I guess I'm one of the rare people who doesn't curse at all. Ironically, I do have an infraction here for inappropriate language lol. But I curse more on the internet than in real life for whatever reason. I'll curse under my breath from time to time or when nobody's around (usually when I'm playing something like Madden or something) but I never curse audibly. I think the last time I cursed audibly was like in 6th grade when pretty much everyone started cursing. Then I decided that I wasn't going to do it anymore.

Aside from a few people I go to church with, I don't know anyone else that doesn't curse. I don't know anyone here at school that doesn't curse. If you were to ask any of my friends they would tell you that I don't curse.

I tend to believe there's better ways to express yourself, although the way it is now it seems like it's harder and harder to replace the effect of a curse word.
