Anyone who played FIFA 08 against me knows I'm a big fan of swearing. I do it a lot...and I also think it makes movies and stand up comedy 1000X funnier...I can't stand censored stuff.

Re: What's your belief on swearing?
I swear, but only when the situation calls for it; and NEVER around family or customers. I definitely no when to turn that switch off.
People who swear uncontrollably drive me insane. I used to have a friend who couldn't finish a sentence without dropping an F-bomb. One night we made her try to not swear, the longest she could make it was like eight minutes.Co-Commish of the OS Vets I & II

Re: What's your belief on swearing?
I guess I'm one of the rare people who doesn't curse at all. Ironically, I do have an infraction here for inappropriate language lol. But I curse more on the internet than in real life for whatever reason. I'll curse under my breath from time to time or when nobody's around (usually when I'm playing something like Madden or something) but I never curse audibly. I think the last time I cursed audibly was like in 6th grade when pretty much everyone started cursing. Then I decided that I wasn't going to do it anymore.
Aside from a few people I go to church with, I don't know anyone else that doesn't curse. I don't know anyone here at school that doesn't curse. If you were to ask any of my friends they would tell you that I don't curse.
I tend to believe there's better ways to express yourself, although the way it is now it seems like it's harder and harder to replace the effect of a curse word.

Re: What's your belief on swearing?
I cuss a lot. I started when I was in 4th grade. I would do it so much just to be cool that my friends would tell me to stop haha. everything was f'in this f'in that. I still swear quite a bit if Im with the guys or whatever but I worked with kids (a group of 12-17 4 and 5yr olds) and you learn to control it and substitute other words.
I will agree with the retired baconator though. When women curse. especially loudly and in public it makes them look ugly to me.
And on the origin of the F word. I was told a long time ago that it was created during medieval times. A group of people used to be famous for their skills in archery and whenever this certain other group would capture the archers in times of war they would cut off their middle-finger. So then it became common during battles for the archers to hold up theur middle-finger and say "We can still pluck you!!" which eventually changed into the phrase we are familiar with haha get it. now i dont know if there is any truth to this story. I was told this by a woman from Tasmania my dad met on the internet and she ended up moving over here. You never know about those Tasmanians...Texas. Football. All. Day.Comment

Re: What's your belief on swearing?
hahaha take it with a grain of salt. i was a young kid most likely bugging the hell out of her with questions about cusswords and she might have just made it up right then and there to shut me up. Sounds like it could be true though lol you know you want to believe it.

And here I thought it was meant to symbolize an erection (hence using the longest finger for that extra emphasis)...Comment
