Need help designing a website......

We purchased the website for our firm yesterday and now need to get it up and running. I have some very basic skills (what I can put together in Dreamweaver) but I want something that really pops and make it seem like our lamb of a practice is really a lion.

There are a couple of templates on this site that I like, but I don't know if I'm getting ripped off here and if this is something that could easily be done compared to paying $60+ for it. Any suggestions?

Here are things I'd like to do, but have no idea. I'd like to set up a message board where people could ask questions and perhaps help generate some business that way. I'd also like to have a spot for a blog, where we could discuss recent legal decisions and how they would effect the average person. Problem is I have no idea how to do either of those things (well I could create a blogger account, but I'd rather have it on the site).

What I would suggest is finding a nearby college student who is doing Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or MIS...something like that. I've never had any experience buying templates online or getting that stuff set up, but college students come cheaper than paying for an actual web developer to get things up and running and are often knowledgeable enough.

I'm finishing up my CS degree at Iowa, and would be happy to help if I didn't have 3 jobs already. Weekly I get emails to all CS students about a new startup or something looking for a part-time web developer or something like that, perhaps you could go that route.

I'm sure there are other qualified people on OS who can give advice, but sometimes it's easier to talk to someone in person or over the phone to figure out exactly what they are looking for.

A lot of times your hosting company will offer free products like blogs, forums etc that you can install via your control panel. What's your hosting company?
