Re: So what's the weather like where you live?
27 degrees out right now. Pretty foggy, but no snow. Last week was beautiful, with highs in the low 60s. Washington gets pretty bipolar with the winter weather. Last week we had one night that dumped six inches of snow and had temperatures in the mid 30's... The next day, it was literally completely melted everywhere with a day time high at 58 degrees.
Doesn't make much sense.
I love the white forecast for Christmas, though.Comment

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?
Looks like I could get a snowstorm on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. It's still way up in the air and totally uncertain, but the potential is certainly there. I've never had a true White Christmas before that I can remember, at least; the closest I've came was last year when we still had a couple inches of snow left in the front yard in the shady areas, but we had torrential rains last Christmas which washed all the snow out by dusk.
It's kind of sad that Brownsville, TX has had a White Christmas (2004) in my lifetime, but not I! That was Brownsville's only measurable snowfall since 1895. Talk about getting lucky...
Anyways, it's relatively warm outside right now at 41 degrees. That's still a few degrees below average, but we've only gotten out of the 30s a handful of times this month, it seems, so it feels quite nice outside! We should make it into the 40s for the rest of the week for highs before whatever happens Christmas Eve, whether it be rain, snow, or a crippling ice storm (which looks like a possibility, too).Comment

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?
My God, the 0z Euro gives northern Mississippi, northern Alabama, north Georgia (including Atlanta), upstate South Carolina, and most of North Carolina a big snowstorm on Christmas Eve (to the west) or Christmas Day (to the east).
I'm quite aware that the chances of that happening are minimal, but that is simply awesome. That said, I do like my chances at a Christmas Day snowfall, the first in my life!Comment

If anyone here is from Alabama, you may find this hilarious as meteorologists Rob Smith (WCBI Columbus, MS), Dick Rice (WTVA Tupelo, MS), and James Spann & Jason Simpson (abc33/40 Birmingham, AL) battle for control of Lamar County, AL.

Still, the 0z Euro is looking good. It's currently showing snow for the entire state of Tennessee, with the heaviest closer to the Smokies.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?
OMG. The 0z Euro just dumped 1-2 feet of snow across the majority of North Carolina on the 25th-26th. I'd get over 18" of snow and Raleigh would get in excess of 20". Charlotte would probably get close to 15" and closer to the coast, they'd probably exceed two feet. WOW!!!
Oh, and Columbia, SC gets like a foot of snow, too.
EDIT: And Charleston, SC probably gets 6" after it changes over to snow when the cold air comes rushing in as the low pressure bombs off of Cape Hatteras.
The run goes on to nail the Mid-Atlantic.Last edited by superjames1992; 12-22-2010, 02:47 AM.Comment
