Solid 4 inches of snow in about 2-3 hours but it's about done. Maybe 1-2 more.

Places from Charleston, SC northward to maybe south of Greenville, NC could see significant snowfall out of this as well as the southern outer banks of NC. But once you get inland 25 miles or so, it sharply cuts off. A westward trend could commence, but it would take a pretty big shift to give even Raleigh anything at this point.

Basically, this is the area we are talking about.

The closer to the coast you are, the more snow you'll likely get. The most snow will probably be found on the Outer Banks (maybe near Cape Lookout).

It's a tight rope to walk, though, as a 50 mile eastward shift would take everyone out of the game except for maybe some token flurries.

In other news, there's a potential snow/sleet/ice storm on its way early next week (Monday/Tuesday timeframe) for the Southeast.
It's looking more and more like the significant snow will be left for the fishes. This is turning into a fish storm. That said, the immediate coast will still probably get in on same light snow, but the real fun will be out over the ocean.

suppose to get 8 inches by sun rise, then additional foot by saturday night. The ski resorts in Vermont are happy as hell, business is booming with all this damn snow we got this month.

Maryland has missed every snow storm this year. It sucks. I really want one big snow storm for like 3 days so I can just sit in and watch movies/tv shows.

Yep, got the same stuff here. It's snowing too, which is weird because usually these temps are too cold for snow.

That said by Tuesday it's supposed to be in the 20s. Time to break out the shorts!

Wind chills will be in the negatives for the next few days.

I don't mind snow, but when it's snowing and - outside...well, there is nothing else like it.

Plus the streets all suck balls. I-77 wasn't even plowed this morning. ODOT sucks.

16 degrees, feels like 1. Freaking cold and gonna stay that way for the next few days, though I guess I shouldn't complain considering what some of you (Tim, NoDak, Dickey) are putting up with. Got several inches of snow last night and we're currently way above normal snowfall for the month (and probably the season too).

                          From Foothills:

This track is amazing for a couple reasons. The low is slow moving. I'm amazed at how the high just sits off Maine coast for so long, the low will literally crawl from eastern GA to eastern VA. Taken literally this is a big snow for western Carolinas, after ice and mix west of CLT to GSO likely maybe further east, and eastern half of TN, n. Ala, N. GA, and as the low gets to Fayetteville then ATL has switched over , well actually well before then really. Its a major snowstorm if the low is that slow and takes that exact track and intensity. Thundersnow under the Upper low over the Piedmont and Upstate region! I'm impressed with the potential on this.
You guys in East TN/North GA/Carolinas/VA are looking like you'll be in for a real treat with this storm.

Sadly, I don't even think it'll be cold enough here for snow. Just a very cold rain.
