Only heard a few claps of thunder at work (no windows where I was at the time so I didn't see lighting), but it was sleeting hard to the point where it hurt my face. Kinda like a bunch of tiny, tiny needles hitting you
So what's the weather like where you live?

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?
It was crazy, I had to scrape the ice off my car to go to dinner and the sleet was coming down so hard with the wind that my coat was covered in 1 minute. I'm NW of the city right now and the roads all have a compact layer of snow on them. Traffic is going to be horrible in the morning if it doesn't stop snowing soon.Comment

It's snowing to beat the band up in the NYC/PHL area right now. WOW! Looks like some 3-4 inch/hr. rates up there.
And LOL at this:

Don;t know why I even went to work today, oh I forgot, if we don't show up even because it snows they don't pay us.
Anyway, it snow so much more then I expected last night, I mean we have got so much snow here in NY I feel like we live in Alaska, and we are suppose to get another storm too.

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?
Last night was pretty crazy with the wind thrown into the equation. Around midnight I couldn't see my neighbor's house across the street it was coming down (and sideways) so rapidly.
We were projected for 6-9" and got 15". The total amount of standing snow in my backyard has got to be closing in on four feet, I'll go out and measure it today."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Pretty nice at the moment, supposed to be 65 and sunny today, and 73 and sunny tomorrow. Overall it has been a fairly mild winter here. Not normally this warm, but I'll take it!Comment

It got up to near 30 today and of course I just happen to get sick so I couldn't even enjoy it. Lame.
It's supposed to get back to normal on Saturday. Boooooo.Huskers | Chelsea FC | Minnesota United | OmahaComment

Amazingly this past snow storm missed Vermont, our mountains broke it all up, we only got a tiny dusting, woohooo. Mass got hammered though.Comment

Yep, this area in SE Wisconsin is preparing for 4 to 6 inches Monday and Monday night(Alberta Clipper) and could be another foot of snow from Tuesday -Wednesday with high winds and blowing and drifting snow.Comment

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?
There are going to be some **** snowfall amounts in the Midwest early this week. Widespread 12"+ amounts are likely and several places may hit two feet!
It's quite possible that we could see a 12"+ swath stretching from central Oklahoma northeastward across much of Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, southern Michigan, northern Ohio, and into southern Ontario.
EDIT: There also will probably a zone of extreme icing that could result in areas of mass power outages. It wouldn't be shocking to see some places get 1"+ of freezing rain, which would be devastating to the trees and power lines in the area.
I have quite a bit of experience with severe icing in my area (December 2002 probably being the worst) and they can do some serious damage over a wide area. You can still see the effects of the 2002 ice storm in the woods here to some degree.Last edited by superjames1992; 01-30-2011, 06:45 PM.Comment

How exciting.
Meanwhile, I'm getting happy here with a few clouds in the sky and the POSSIBILITY of less than a quarter of an inch of rain.Comment
