We'll probably have to wait until morning to see more about this. I hope this doesn't end with me getting nothing while Raleigh and points east get a whole lot.

I hope I wake up to a new Winter Storm Watch tomorrow posted for tomorrow night and into Tuesday.
I hope I wake up to a blizzard. I am craving some football in the snow

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?

We just had a very light snow shower move in here already and coat the mailbox and above ground objects with a light coating of snow. I'm pretty surprised that the snow lasted over the mountains as it usually breaks up. This wasn't forecasted, either, so I hope it entails good tidings for us.

Two good things about this system are that surface temperatures are very cold since it's been so cold here for the last week or two which should help the snow stick a lot easier. The other good thing is that I saw that a 20:1 or 15:1 snowfall/liquid ratio should be falling as compared to the average 10:1 ratio. This means more snow for the same amount of liquid precipitation. Basically, it means we'll get more snow with the same amount of moisture.

I'm probably building my confidence up only to be crushed later, but I'll live in dreamland for now.

It's cold and there is about 18 inches of snow on the ground.

Well, I woke up to a new Winter Storm Watch issued! Now let's hope it materializes!

It's looking as if you Raleigh people should see more snow than I and the Coastal Plain towards the Outer Banks and Sandhills may even get more than you. This should be interesting.

I can see us here in Raleigh getting between 1 and 10 inches, I hope that low comes close to the coast so we get more.

Yeah, it's so up in the air right now. I wouldn't be surprised by anything. This is definitely a wait-and-see scenario.

I have a feeling that it may fall apart before anything happens.

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?

Well, we only got issued a Winter Weather Advisory.

Those of you in Charlotte and Raleigh have a Winter Storm Warning and Randolph Country, just South of us, and Alamance County, just west of us, has a Winter Storm Warning, so I'm not too discouraged. We just need to storm to move a little far west to get some more of it, but we'll still get snow as it is.

I've seen many different snowfall amounts for us, ranging from 1-3 inches to 2-4 inches to 3-5 inches to 6 inches. I even saw that Raleigh could get 6-9 inches. I'd probably say that 3-5 inches is the most realistic amount for most of North Carolina, though, with maybe some isolated areas of higher amounts. But it's all up in the air. I'm hoping for a big one.

I'm getting weary of it falling apart, too, Marino. I've seen these things fall apart before plenty of times; I just hope it doesn't happen this time...

WRAL said 2-4 inches which by my experience means 1/4 inch or none. Oh well my first class is canceled tomorrow anyway, but would still like to wake up to some white

Well, the storm seems to be coming together more now. We're in the lower 40s here, but I think once the moisture arrives, the temperatures should take a nosedive. Plus, the sun is going down. I think they said that the storm is trending a bit more west than previously predicted, which should be good for I and probably you folks in Charlotte and Raleigh, as well.

Places in Northern Alabama could see up to an inch I saw, as well, and there's a snow band right near Huntsville, AL right now.

Its ridiculous the way it appears to be changing. I think this is setting up like it did in 2000.
