It looks like a major winter storm could be on tap for the Southeast and/or Mid-Atlantic during the middle of next week (March 6th timeframe). Nothing definite yet, but it looks like it could be pretty major for NC, VA and possibly deeper into the South.

Well we dodged the snow. All we ended up with yesterday was drizzle and 80 mph winds all day yesterday. Power stayed on though, for my area anyway. Few miles down the road a tree fell on a transformer and they lost power over there.

Well, Washington DC is going to get slammed as will NOVA. I'm just going to be hoping for a quick shot of snow on the back side at this point.

          It's really nice outside today.

          Sunny and 56 right now.

Tomorrow it's staying about the same, but a chance of rain and then back to mid 40s for Wednesday. It seems every day that the weather is really nice, I'm stuck at work. I would love to be off work today.

The park is calling my name for a good run.

New England is going to get slammed, too, potentially. Boston could get over a foot of wet snow ... the power outages in the Northeast could be insane once it's all said and done. There's a lot of model spread, though, and it wouldn't take much of an eastward shift to put Boston back out of the game. It's going to be a hell of a storm ... too bad I'll probably be 200 miles too far south to experience it (aside from a cold rain).

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a ton of power outages in DC/NOVA, too. We're talking about 6-18" (depending on where you are ... more the further you go inland) of heavy, wet, cement-style snow that can bring down trees, power lines, etc.

And we miss another one SJ.

Over the weekend I got my hopes up for the chance of some snow for wednesday but it worked its way out of our forecast. There are not too many things in this world that I hate more than a cold rain. Meanwhile my folks up in maryland look to get a decent snow.

Winter storm warning, but the snow is mostly missing town. 4 inches is just a dusting, so life goes on.

We are projected anywhere from 8-14 inches. There goes golf for a while.

Supposed to get 3-6 inches of snow starting in the next few hours through late morning. I was thinking earlier about how this storm is just one week short of the 20 year anniversary of the Blizzard of '93.

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?

Yikes, what a bust in DC. Warm boundary layer temperatures ruined what would have been a big hit.

Nevertheless, areas in interior VA easily surpassed a foot and in some places close to two feet. Richmond is going to get more snow than DC, LOL.

Looks like despite not even reaching half of my snowfall average this year I will still end up with more than twice of DCA's total. Of course, you can't rule out snow for the rest of March either here nor there, but it's not exactly likely. We tend to get an accumulating snowfall here in late March/early April once every decade here.

Cloudy, 40 degrees, not a drop of snow on the ground. For once a snow storm will finally completely miss my area.

I know the Weather Channel had Jim Cantore stationed there and everytime they kept showing him I was wondering, "Where's the snow"..LOL

Starting to snow pretty good for the last hour here in central CT.
                              Windy too.
