Anyone in the Midwest, South, or Mideast better keep their head up. Going to be another rough day.

So let me just say how much I hate tornadoes. Scared the mess out of all of us last night. We were all in the basement, fortunately. We've already gotten most the trees off the house today, just in time for a supposed round two of storms in the next little while.

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?

It's supposed to be stormy here in a few hours with maybe a tornado or two. We don't get tornadoes a lot here because of topography but when the weatherpeople get freaked out, something is usually up.

Anyway, I didn't want to start another thread and I'm not sure how many people know who I am, but I wanted to say thanks to everyone for everything. I've been here for a while (almost 10 years I think) and this site has provided me with a lot of laughs, rosters and time killing. May God's grace be on everyone in this line of storms and His presence be with everyone affected by it. Hopefully I will talk to everyone soon, but if the worst happens, thanks for everything and God bless y'all.

Best of luck and blessing there. We've got the infamous polygons on the radar just west of us, but hoping it weakens with the stronger storms forming south of us.

I will say this, though, in half-humor. News media and those up north may pick on the southern states when it comes to how we handle ice storms, but we've got our crap together when it comes to tornado and straight-line wind damage clean-up.

Unfortunately, it's become as common to us as ice storms to the north. We had the outbreak on April 27th three years ago, another smaller storm system last year this same weekend or around it, and now this on April 28th. I'm beginning to despise this time of year.

Those photos up top are pretty crazy. Are those from your property? I feel for you guys either way. I do not envy being in such a vulnerable position from a weather standpoint.

We're in Tuscaloosa, AL. The main damage was to our boats/boat shed and our two workshops and barn, but we also had three trees laid across the house as well. Chainsaws made pretty good work of it all this morning into tonight, and we've cleared it for the most part. Just amazes me, though, we've had at least twenty trucks full of people with chain saws just showing up to help, wanting nothing in return. These people take off work to help, and want no compensation besides a cold drink here or there if offered... and they didn't mind the 40+ cheeseburgers we provided, either. That's what makes me love where I live.

Our other property about a half mile away had a trampoline through the roof and the AC unit twisted off the slab. I grabbed the harddrive that contains all of our pictures on it, so there wasn't anything in either home that couldn't be replaced besides memories.

Such a compelling contrast - a scary and defeating situation on one hand, but something so magnificent on the other. I do not enjoy hearing about your travails, for I wish your properties were completely spared, but I am quite fond to hear the stories of unity that emerged as a result.

Horrific flash flooding in Pensacola. Over 5 1/2 inches of rain in an hour, over 10 inches of rain in the past 24 hours. And it's still coming down..

Rain and wind last night and all day. Of course our rear door on SUV somehow popped open last night. So that got wet.
