surprise storm system hit over the last hour or so
seems like just a strong storm, not severe, no "rotations" fortunately
last weekend was different, I should've taken cover, chose not to. It worked out, but that's not a gamble I should take. (tornado warning with funnel tracked right over my exact spot, it was intense, even the people on the news took cover, touchdown couldn't be confirmed because it was "rain wrapped")

Sounds like this week could be the hottest of the summer.

Ida wasn't as bad for us as she was to our neighbors to the South, however, we're currently at around 72 hours without power with no generator and we are under a heat advisory. We have standby generators at work so that gets us some cool air for most of the day.
We have a holiday weekend coming up and if the power still isn't up we'll definitely be looking to get out for the weekend but there's really nowhere close to go since most of the hotels/Airbnb's are booked and gas is scarce. Hopefully, things turn around soon, at this point I'd be happy with just a timeframe of when our power will be back on so I can know whether to try to find a generator or not.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Feel for you man, went through that with Laura last year. We were one of the fortunate ones to only be without power for about a week and I was fully expecting it to be down at least 2-3 weeks or even more as a lot of people were. It was nice to have a generator though.

Maryland had about 2 dozen tornado warnings today from Ida, 2 of those were incredibly close to my area and one I even had to take cover for. It was not a fun day.Last Movie Watched: Morbius (2022).
