I really don't care for the long winters (the sun setting at 4pm is the biggest bitch) but I don't know if I could move to Phoenix or Austin. I think I'd miss the seasons like crazy.
People from Southern California are pretty delusional. They pretty much have no idea that other things happen in other parts of the country. They are the definition of people living in a bubble, and their personality shows. They love 80 degrees in January. To them, it's a feature. Part of the spoiled personality. And, since people like this, plays a factor in cost of living here.

I like looking out a window and not being confused whether it's Martin Luther King Day or Memorial Day. Personally I can deal with there not being any action weather-wise, but what I can't deal with is people acting like their first child is being murdered in front of them if it rains a day or two in a row, or if the temperature dips below 65. Like it's a personal affront. I prefer when it rains, because that means less people are out on the roads and it doesn't take me half an hour to drive 5 miles.

I enjoy seasons. Being from Central California, "seasons" to me aren't like seasons to most. There weren't blizzards, ice storms, etc. It would be in the 40s/50s during the day in the winter, with lows in the 20s/30s, and lots of rain and fog. Summers would be 95+ and dry. Fresno summers were pretty damn hot. Would often get up and over 107, 108 during the day, not dipping below 75 at night. I never LOVED the hot weather, but I dealt with it because I knew in a couple months, it would be gone. It was fair and you get a semblance of excitement from one season to the next. Here in LA, why should I care that it's summertime if I can just as easily go to the beach in January here? Why should I get extra excited about the holiday seasons when it's 80 degrees out? I know it's weird to base feelings based on that, but that's what happens.

But I've talked about this subject ad nauseum. I'll never really get used to it.

This is the first winter that I am not up north enduring the snow. I moved from Pittsburgh to Greenville, NC, this past summer, and I have to say that I LOVE this mild winter. We haven't had a single snowflake yet. I don't think temperatures have dropped below 30 degrees during the day or 20 at night, and we haven't had many instances when we have had two consecutive cold days.

We still have another month or so or winter, so I'm sure we could get hit with some snow and a cold spell or two, but it wouldn't ruin the great winter we have had.

To me, it isn't necessarily the snow that makes winter awful. It's the slush (makes everything dirty and wet), the salt (ruins pants and car paint), and the ice (that you have to avoid when walking and scrape off of your car if you don't have a garage) that are the real PITAs.

One thing I don't like are wild swings. Hate when temps change 30 degrees within a day or two.

One of the things I loved about about Fresno. If it was gonna be hot, it would stay hot. Winter highs? Ten or fifteen degree spread to work with. Wild temp swings mess with my brain.

You wouldn't like St. Louis/midwest winters then. Lol.

It's 17 degrees here right now and on Sunday the high is supposed to be 58 degrees.

Being from the South and having spent a lot of time in the midwest, I've been able to experience both and outside of Fall, the midwest can take its seasons and shove them up its ***. It's not like it doesn't get cold in the south and you can avoid freezing rain/sleet/snow storms. Snow is cool around Christmas, after January 1 it's annoying as hell and gets old.

Yeah, in Austin we don't really have seasons, we have a couple of weeks were it's in the 30s, but after that it's usually alright. Summers suck, but fall and spring are just perfect. When I moved here, I was shocked and I hated it at first, but I got used to it. I REALLY hate sleet and ice, so it's good that we only get that about once or twice a year. We could use some rain though!!!

All I know is being from the south and living in Alaska sucks lol. 6 months of snow and very little sun or 6 months of very little darkness gets old. Im looking forward to moving to Mississippi in the summer. I honestly dont ever want to see snow again. I mean when you live somewhere and you think 30 degrees is warm then there's something wrong.

Freezing rain in the area...I like snow (in moderation), but that mess can stay away.

cm? Are you from Canada? Even here most (all?) people I talk to have no idea how much a cm is, though it's supposed to be the official units of measurement. I tried to explain a co-worker that 1 in = 2.5 cm, and that it's easy to convert, but she said something like that it's too complicated and there's no reason to know.

                            EDIT:
