I'm just counting my blessings, Chelsea is real close to Madison, just about 11 miles down the road I believe. It so easily could have hit us, truly lucky.
So what's the weather like where you live?

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?
I'm just laughing at trying to forecast snow right next to Lake Superior, which controls all weather here.
Earlier this week, it was supposed to start snowing on Tuesday night around 10PM for a huge storm for at least a foot of snow. It doesn't start until 5 AM on Wednesday morning, and they downgrade everything. After 3 hours of heavy snow and gusts to 60 MPH winds, they upgrade to a blizzard warning and we get a whole bunch of snow (8-10 inches) in a short period of time. The roads don't get plowed adequately, and they cancel the area schools again on Thursday even though we don't get snow at all on Wednesday night.
Yesterday, the forecast was for a dusting of snow, maybe two inches. Around 8 last night, it just starts dumping snow and they call a Winter Weather Advisory for 4-6 inches. This morning, there's suddenly a Winter Storm Warning and we're now at 10 inches and counting. I think it's finally winding down.
Anyway, here's the view out my patio door. About 2 weeks ago, you could see grass.
Not complaining, though. I'll take this over tornadoes destroying the town any day. Such a bad situation in those areas.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 03-03-2012, 05:19 PM.Comment

52 degrees today..........majority of all of our snow is melted......People outside BBQ'ng, riding motorcycles, you would have thought spring was here. Never mind the fact we had a foot of snow 2 days ago and it was hailing last night.
Wacky weather !!!!!!!Comment

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?
I hear you but this was a first for me. I've been at work, which is about 2 miles from my house, when we've had bad thunderstorms but they never let us leave early like that because of the threat. I don't recall ever being let out of school early for anything like this and I've lived here my whole life. The only thing I've noticed, and maybe it's just mind games, is over the last few years or so the really powerful, tornado-spawning thunderstorms have increased in frequency. We have plenty of bad storms throughout the year but it seems like there are more really, really bad ones lately. We can debate, not necessarily here, on why that is. I really don't know.
If they know its coming, it keeps people off the roads and safer at home.Comment

Sunny and warm! Hit a record high of 57, beating the old record of 52 for today thanks to some strong southerly winds. 50's and 60's with sun are forecasted for the rest of the week!
