As long as its not Thursday, I'm good. Sunday thru Monday would be best.

It is looking more and more likely that this is going to happen.

The latest run of the NAM (one of the plethora of models out there) printed out 70"+ for BOS. Now, that's not going to happen, but it's good weather porn.

Still, it looks like it is very possible that BOS is going to see a top 10 storm all-time (18"+) on Friday/Saturday. The way the thing phases is going to be a thing of beauty.

^^ I was just reading that over at NOAA.gov. Sounds like a good time. I was still living in Maryland for the 2002 presidents day snowstorm. We got about 2.5 ft of snow. It was awesome! I don't ever expect that here in North Carolina but you never know, if things ever come together just right it could happen. If it did I would imagine the area being shut down completely for days.

Raleigh got 18-24" in 2000 and the I-85 corridor from upstate South Carolina up towards the area just south of Greensboro got 14-24" in late February 2004, so we get some monster storms on occasion. Nothing like what they might see up there, though. We just usually can't get the blocking to allow the storms to stall and snow over us for 24+ hours.

March 1980 was epic, too. 20"+ in NE NC.

Even SE NC can get in on insane amounts (granted, this is like a 1-in-100 year event). This snowstorm actually brought Jacksonville, FL its last accumulating snowfall.

There's been quite a few more 12"+ storms, especially in the foothills and mountains.

There was also the February 1973 snowstorm which brought 15-20+" to central portions of South Carolina and Georgia.

Ah the storm of 2000. I remember school being canceled for what seemed like forever. One of the best couple weeks of my life, video gaming, sledding, and playing snow football.

And here I was starting to think I was tired of winter.

I'm just tired of all the ice we've received, but nothing compared to the east coasters on this one.

Feb. 2011 we had 20 inches of snow.

This is what the road in front of my house looked like during the snow/ice storm we had in NC a couple weeks ago. It's about 1/4 inch of sleet on the road and that was before the main part of the storm hit.

                        40ish and spitting rain.

But better than the alternative of -5 and ice.

I'm sooooo ready for winter to be over.

The latest updated from the Philadelphia weather service has my are anywhere between 10-15. I'm waiting for the official weather area update.

From various places, it looks like anywhere from as little as 6in to as much as 15in.

Yeah, that was a nasty event impact-wise. We got 0.25" of sleet here along with a trace of snow and freezing rain, but the roads were basically a sheet of ice for Rush Hour that Friday. It is interesting because the effects from that storm were much worse than from the 3.5" of wet snow we got a week prior.

Anyways, save this map, folks. Amazing stuff to see an official forecast for 24"+ over such a large area.

Oh, and a Blizzard Warning is up for the whole I-95 corridor from New York City to just south of Bangor, Maine!
