Subway is making the biggest menu change in its history

The revamp includes new recipes for the chain's Italian and multigrain breads, as well as new sandwich toppings.

The chain is also tweaking items already on the menu. Subway's bacon, for example, will now be hickory-smoked, and its turkey and ham sliced more thinly. It's also bringing back past items like rotisserie-style chicken and roast beef. To encourage customers to try the new ingredients, thousands of restaurants plan to give away up to one million free sandwiches between 10 AM and 12 PM on July 13. The chain is also updating the look of its app and partnering with DoorDash to let customers order delivery directly from the Subway app.

I'm curious if fast food companies will get in on the fiber bread craze

the problem of course is the fiber buns cost way more

but the low carb and keto community seem willing to pay for the alternate bread solutions, so who knows

happy days are here again! so glad roast beef is coming back.

I've put on too much weight with a ton of meatball subs under my belt. I hope honeyoat bread will return soon also too as well. after years of being one of a few still left offering honeyoat, 2020's pandemic was the final nail in the coffin for my local Subway to quit on honeyoat.

but roastbeef hasn't been gone too long around here. probably a little more than a year ago was my last Subway roastbeef sub.

with first no roastbeef, and then no honeyoat, if they had quit on pepperjack cheese, I was going to be done with Subway

There are people out there that would KILL to be able to have $3.23 to spend on food. This seems like an inconvience at the most.

Are you one of those people who would say "There are starving children in Africa" when I'm too full to finish my restaurant meal?

My initial point of this thread still stands: the value of a McDonald's meal is no longer worth it compared to another meal at the same price.

I think his comment was more towards the price complaint.

Man, 13 years ago at SDSU. I remember when most places were pushing five dollar meal deals. Never did once go to the ARC though.

McDonalds in Canada is teasing a popular item returning on Tuesday.

Obviously being so vague, people are guessing everything.

They should just bring the McRib back full time instead of waiting till the fall to do so.

Speaking of Ronald McDonald, whatever happened to him? Don't see them using him or any character much anymore.

Obviously things change, but I could've sworn when I was little the McDonalds near me used to have some giant inflatable Ronald McDonald on their roof. It might have only been there when he visited that location or they held some event.

Although...he is the reason I hate clowns, so maybe it's a good thing he's not around lol.

Maybe it changed with their advertising campaign.

It likely does have to do with people's impressions of clowns, though. I wouldn't be surprised.

I've never looked at the timeline to confirm this, but I just assumed they dropped him when they started renovating their locations away from the classic McDonald's look and more toward a generic modern style.

I wonder if that's when they went all in on marketing specifically to an urban demographic. Now that is a depressing topic.
