Re: Anyone else in to "denim"

I mean I had like 35 pairs of shoes before my apartment got robbed. and i used to have dudes tell me all the time i was wasting money.

Yet theyre walking around with dingy looking sneakers and clothes on and 65 inch televisions and a blue ray dvd archive in the 100's

    Its all perspective.

See, that's part of the reason I can't get into it. It's their job to look cute, and it's my job to make money. Nothing attracts women like confidence and success.

That's the short version, which sounds a little chauvinistic, but functionally it works. You can attract dimwitted little girls with a cute outfit and some shucking and jiving, but women will get with a dude in a bathrobe and bunny slippers if he owns it.

So if you want something and have the money to get it, just get it.

See thing with fashion is, it can consume you. Well at least it once had me.. I can't just stop at two pairs of jeans, I need five. Same thing with coats and shirts etc etc. But I feel you to an extent.

Yeah fashion isn't for everyone that's for sure. Also, I love looking different, that actually boosts my confidence. I love/hate going somewhere where every dude is wearing something similar.

As far as their job is to look cute, our job is to make money.. well once you get that money, you have to do something with it right? To be "fashionable" you definitely have to be a lowkey baller.

That's what Packman meant by the "wrong reason". If you really like clothes, by all means enjoy it. If you're not really into it, but you think it can yield rewards from the opposite sex, that's barking up the wrong tree.

I totally agree with your point on spending money on the things you enjoy. Life's too short.

Not true. You either need to have the swagger of a successful person, or be really focused on your own success. Women can smell that a mile away.

Swagger/confidence is separate from being a fashionable person though.

It's pretty difficult to be poor, and be into some of the higher end clothing named in this thread.

My bad, I quoted the wrong thing. Of course you have to have money to buy expensive clothes. But you don't need to be fashionable in any way to get girls.

Confidence and success are better currency for the opposite sex than clothes.

                      No doubt about that.

                      I would never say otherwise.

I don't know... that's a good website though for denim. I'll probably just stick with Urbanoutfitters type stuff.

For the record. While I think it's crazy to pay $100 bucks for jeans, doesn't mean it is. People can do what they please with their money. I am sure there are plenty of people who would say I am nuts for spending money on video games.

Yeah...I'll spend 30-40ish on jeans, I just have trouble paying tons on clothes. I like to look nice, but I'll just get stuff on sale/etc and not have to pay tons. I can understand how clothes are someone's "thing" though. I spend money on games and electronic gadgets and I know some people could never do that (non techy people usually).
