They're "coming along"? What is he doing to them? I didn't know you had to break in jeans like a damn baseball glove...

Seriously though, is he treating them with crap or something? I honestly haven't heard of this before....

I think this sums it up best: when I meet women, or people in general, there have been several occasions where they thought that I swung the other way. Obviously, that first impression is pretty important with females, and when the first thought that runs through their mind is that I'm playing for the other team.. well that doesn't exactly help my cause.

Now I don't choose garb like you'll see in youvlass' thread about the aliens.. but I dabble. There are much more trendy people in my city.. but yeah that's how it is in my life.
it happens to me too man... I like concerning myself with the way I dress... and I put a lot of effort into picking out my clothes.

A lot of people misconstrue guys with sense of style as being "gay". At the end of the day, girls won't hold that against you... they'll learn who you are, and then they'll be thankful that you don't dress slobby like every other guy.

Basically with raw denim you have to break them in.

The denim starts out real stiff and usually a deep indigo color.

with normal wear of the course of time and dirt you break the indigo down and the material starts to fade, and after awhile you wash them and thats how you get the cool fade/washed look.

its cool because not everyones jeans fade and wear the same, so you can get some really unique looks.

Also some jeans fade slower faster depending on the stiffness of the jeans, like some Japanese denim brands are 21oz which is fairly heavy and stiff.

My APC jeans were really stiff to begin with but after awhile they broke down and theyre not as stiff now, i still havent washed them tho

Na that's the thing, if we were letting them dictate our style, we wouldn't be rockin outfits that have them thinkin we're not into women.

Anywho GSW I think it's safe to say you're the only denimhead on OS. Congrats

GSW, what do you think about WeSC. I realize they're not the upper upper echelon of denim..

I never buy denim online, but I couldn't resist buying these at 50% off. These are Marwin cut..

naw i tihnk there was one other dude too.

I want to keep this thread alive, maybe i can convert some guys.

I dont think people really realize that all jeans arent equal.

In the case of Raw denim your not paying for a name... your actually paying for quality jeans that will last a helluva long time and turn into something unique.

add on to that, its something you're using EVERY day, so you're getting your moneys worth.

I don't have like a million pairs of jeans because I don't really need them. I have 3 pair.

                            1 indigo raw (APC)
                            1 black raw (N&F)
and 1 light wash jean thats not raw I barely wear (Nudie)
with some Imperials on the horizon.

I wish i could buy some of you guys a pair of APC's at least so you could tell the difference.

You keep saying that you're paying for something that lasts a long time but I've never had a problem with any of my jeans lasting for as long as I want and that's the case with just about everyone in this thread.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

If you're wearing these things every day and only have three pair, that sounds like a lot of laundry, unless they don't get washed every time, but I'm kind of particular about washing my clothing even if I only wear it for a few hours (probably a little excessive, I know).

Also, I bought like 6 pair of jeans at Old Navy when they had their huge denim sale during back to school week. Each pair was $12. I only wear jeans Fri-Sun (professional work attire Mon-Thur). My jeans, which cost a total of $72 + tax will probably last me at least the next 3 years or more. So financially, I don't see the benefit. If I bought your jeans, I'd pay at least double the price and only have one pair. Instead I paid less than half and have 6 pair of different cuts and colors. Maybe not as trendy, but I'm ok with that.

While your jeans may be more comfortable, mine are comfortable enough to the point that I don't notice them or ever feel uncomfotable, so I don't think the benefit for me is worth the 1000%+ markup.
