Re: OS Hoopers....What are your balling tips?
is it wrong if my shots are "flat"?. My release point is apparently too low according to some people. I normally shoot around 35-40 % from mid range and probably about 30% from three point range. I want to know if it is worth trying a different technique. Sometimes i'm on fire and other times i just can't nail a shot at all.Comment

It's just physics, more arch generally means there's a better chance the shot will go in and there is more room for error in terms of accuracy. There are plenty of great shooters who have flat shots though.
Release point is a big issue though, my release point is the one thing that changed the most when I got to college, I had to adjust it to get it off over bigger defenders."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

And yes, while 30% from the arc is not atrocious or anything to that effect, I think switching up the form and release point could surely provide benefits. 30% is not worth hanging onto an awkward stroke over.Comment

Cheers guys i am going to try a higher release point. The thing with the lower release point is that you can also tend to over-shoot the ball... completely missing the basket from the sidelineComment

Neither can I. Going to my left dribbling and pulling up is so smooth. But going right just seems odd and my shot is terrible. The only way I can make it seem smooth is by fading away.Comment
