The meaning of life is asking meaning of life questions....

True... A lot of luck, and a lot of just really, really "smart" microorganisms that continued to develop and develop based on what they needed at the time until we have what we are today. It really is quite amazing, life.

because there are no original answers. People have been asking this since the first person spoke. What's to be original about anymore?

Honestly, it seems the last guy who posted that I didn't quote (who my post might be below if I get this in before anyone else) kind of has it right. The purpose of life is to perpetually ask what the meaning of life is.

It's just kind of a trite discussion at this point because no one is going to tell you anything you haven't heard before; and on top of that, no one on this planet knows the answer, either because there is no meaning to life (my belief), or because whatever the meaning is, there's just really no way to verify any such claims.

If no one knows the answer then why do you speak as if YOU have it all figured out, and that your definition is correct.

I personally like the answer kerplunk gave. Seems about right on with my belief system.

It was best put by Louden Swain, "But all I ever settled for is that we're born to live and then to die"

            Re: What's this life for?

I am going to be closing this thread. Unfortunately, there is no real way to discuss the "meaning of life" without bringing in religious aspects into it (some of which has already been brought up).

            Sorry..
