Naw man, I made it from scratch. I haven't used store bought pasta sauce in years.

It was a bit of a cop out though, as the can of tomatoes I used were diced tomatoes. Usually I buy a can of the whole San Marzanos from Italy and use a food processor to puree them.

You're pretty hardcore with that pasta sauce. I'm sure it's all worth it when it's on the table, fresh and ready. I love cooking my own meals. I'd love to start making things from scratch.

I got my dad Shadow Ops Red Mercury (a FPS game) last week. Today my wife and I went there to have lunch with my parents and my mom told me that my dad is so into the game that she can't talk to him anymore. She said: "I come home from work and I ask him something, and then he fails on the game and gets angry. I can't talk to him anymore, so now I just come home and don't bother with that". I admit this game is addicting, but I never wanted to cause them any troubles...
So today my dad tried to get through the sixth mission but didn't make it and I tried and failed too. Maybe he passed it by now. I sure hope he doesn't get too upset if he doesn't...

Best thing about the sauce though, is if you doubled everything up (two 32oz cans of whole tomatoes, two cans of paste, etc) you can store the extra in containers or bags in the freezer and upon heating it up it tastes the same.

Makes the effort worth it, even if you aren't a big cook-at-home person.

My parents were about to get divorce dozens of times. They're still together after 38 years, and they're closer than ever (I didn't believe it myself). But those games...ohhh...My mom once told me that he was playing PC games until 2-3 am... and he pops up the volume and you hear bullets in the middle of the night Well, he does plays well and I remember him finishing the first Far Cry like a teenager...LOL.

I use whole San Marzano's as well, but I dont process all of them...I usually reserve around 10-15% of the whole tomatoes and crush them by hand to add a more rustic texture to the pasta.

Your sause sounds nice though...do you add any sausage or meatballs while simmering?...I find the beef and pork fat to thicken up the sauce naturally while adding great flavor.

Are most major college campuses like this? Right on the edge of campus in the middle of the strip(basically restaurants and bars)there's 2 Mexican restaurants with happy hours from 5 to 9 and they're always packed on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with UA students. The food is average but you can't beat 40 OZ margaritas or $3 pitchers.
