Let us know how you like IT. I've been meaning to pick up the book but haven't had a chance.

I'll definatly let you know. I read the first 10 pages in the book store when I got it and I'm loving it so far. Steven King is one of my favorite authors though.

The Street Lawyer will be my first John Grisham book. I'll probably read both at the same time

Gas is creeping back up. It was $1.86, and now its reaching back up to 2$.

Yea I hope gas doesn't creep up too far...if $2 was a ceiling I'd be content.

Generally not, but I brown the meat in the same pan with a little olive oil and don't drain off the fat before adding the veggies and tomatoes. Same effect, IMO.

I did do a big bolognese sauce one time with pork stew meat, ground veal, and italian sausage, letting the meat cook in the sauce throughout the day (no browning or pre-cooking).

When I'm making my sauce, pretty similar to yours actually, I dont necessarily make it a meat sauce...I throw the pork sausage (raw, no browning) and meatballs (raw as well) into the sauce pretty much in the beginning of cooking and let it simmer away all day...when the sauce is done I remove the sausage and meat balls and place them on the side for sandwiches or if someone wants a meatball with their pasta.

When I was training to be chef in school (still am training, just doing it with my friend at his catering business) one of my instructors always stressed the point that Americans tend to use all Meats as the main focus of the dish when it really is a great flavoring agent....pork fat is heaven basically.

I'm studying Asian cuisine currently (Korean, Vietnamese, and Thai) and their cultures are great at using meat as a flavor rather than the main focus of a dish.

You seem to have a good culinary knowledge (San Marzano's, no substitue)....its nice to see people enjoying the finer things.

I've consumed way too much alcohol since Monday. Four fifths of liquor, about to get started on #5, and going to the bar every night.

I just want to give a big **** you to my local movie theate, Greenfield Garden Cinemas for not carrying The Wrestler, in lieu of the pure **** they choose to carry such as Paul Blart: Mall Cop or Motel 4 Dogs. Despite the fact that last week The Wrestler had the second highest per showing average per screening of any movie, they don't carry it.

thank goodness its supposed to be in the mid-40's tomorrow and then the low-50's on Sunday so that this snow and ice will melt away. I'm tired of dealing with it.
