The last "big" poker game I played was 16 people, two tables of eight. Top three placed - I got third so I got my money back, but damn was it fun.
Have you or JJ ever played with scalps? I know that there is a thing called poker scalps which may or may not be the same thing, but my buddies have always called it scalps.
If for instance, the buy-in is $20 you put on extra $5 next to you. Whoever knocks you out, you give that $5 to that person. So hypothetically, someone can knock out 4-5 people and make $25 bucks but not win the actual placement money.

I've played that. We call it a bounty tournament where every player has a "bounty" on their head. You knock someone out, you get their money.
Wasn't there a thread about The Base System a long while back? I seem to remember one, yet I can't dig it up right now (notwithstanding the fact that I am slightly incapacitated right now).
Namely, I'd like to know what a bases-clearing double is.
