I grapple with it...but for me it's more the personality kind (OCPD). I do have some ticks though, usually when it comes to cleaning. I'll wipe the same area three times before moving on, or I'll vacuum/dust on a set schedule regardless of need. I also continually adjust books and items on shelves, much to my wife's chagrin. She'll put something back and I'll adjust it, at times she claims that I "didn't move it at all" from where she placed and it drives her mad.

Look up OCPD, though, and that pretty much describes me to a "T". Curse of being a first born I guess, but man, I'm a perfectionist, clean and neat freak, and very particular about things...and yet, at potlucks, my food touches and I don't have a cow, while my wife has her plate segmented with food firewalls to prevent touching.

Funny you bring this up, I just realized I have slight OCD last night. It's not much, but its there. For instance, before I fall asleep, I have to rub a rosary (usually on the backboard) five times, then I have to knock on wood (mostly the backboard) eighteen times, going in two sets of nine. I thought it was just a habit at first, but when I tried not doing it, I didn't feel "right," which is basically OCD.

Now it doesn't control my life, like Jack Nicholson's character in As Good As It Gets, but it's there. I only do them when I'm alone though; a few months ago I lived with a female friend, and when we'd go to bed (same bed) I didn't go through the same motions, and it never crossed my mind.

I'm playing First to Fight: Close Combat - and that's some tough game! Wow, I never get to the checkpoint in one try, I have to do each one 2-3 times, at least. But it's great, very realistic!

Because they were the one's who brought the diseases over. They weren't new in Europe.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

You're missing the point...what he's saying is, why didnt the Native Americans demolish the Europeans with their own diseases like the Euro's did to them with small pox.

That's what powered snowblowers are for.

I would imagine it having to do with the city and town living of the Europeans compared to the more nomadic and smaller group living of the Americans. Same reason a ton of kids get sick their first year in college; if you live around more people in worse conditions for diseases, you'll have more illness to offer.

I'm sure there was some exchange of disease, but when you throw out smallpox, you brought an AK to a knife fight. If you give me a bad cold, and I give you Ebola, my contribution will be remembered more.

Old Dutch Ketchup Chips are simply divine. I normally don't hold for food with MSG and a bunch of crap (colorings, preservatives, etc.) but these are like the world's perfect snack food.

                            Yum!

I watched an old lady get hit by a car this morning in a grocery store parking lot. She bounced back up and I'm sad to say that I laughed. ..................
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Is anyone else finding that as they get older, they're actually caring more about sports?

I don't know what it is, but I'm really enjoying things for the most part, and my teams aren't even that good. I'm pretty pumped for the NFL games this weekend even though the Chiefs aren't playing, I'm excited for baseball even though the Royals suck, I'm always excited for College basketball.

Just seems like I'm enjoying sports more these days.
