I grew up on the lake there until I was about 7, then moved about 20 miles Northwest to a small town no one's heard of. Went to school and graduated H.S. there. Moved to Dayton Suburbs 2 years ago for a job.

The rest is history.

Now that everyone on Off-Topic knows my life story, back to regular babbling posts.

I hate how it's 60 degrees in every room in our house except for my room, which is at about 95.

I have the opposite situation. Every room in the house is reasonably warm but my room has strange ventilation or something because it's ridiculously cold in the winter (except on sunny days where I can open the window and the sunlights warms the room) and hot like an oven in summer. It's probably why I get more colds and such these days.

So anywho I just had a helluva time trying to sign up to a T_____t site. I was a member but I forgot to park my account and it got killed so I had to sign up again. Took me about 4 times to sign up again because my cookies was having a hard time enabling on said site BLAH! Finally got in though and have parked it.

I was going to ask if you knew him, but if you moved away that young, I doubt you do.

That's how my bedroom is as well. It's due to the room being directly over the garage, and it's horrible if I forget to turn the air conditioning or heater on at night.

anyone ever eaten at Chick-Fil-A...there's one at my college and I think the food is disgusting. Luckily they have a Famiglia's there and its delicious.

How can you say Chick Fil A is gross? That place is awesome. At least down here (Tampa, Fl)

Have a feeling it's going to be a crummy day today. Dealing with a customer issue that wasn't my fault, but is my responsibility to address. Not fun.

Picked up a PS2 (with controller and 64mb card) for $30 yesterday. Going to rent the Show '08 next weekend. If I like the gameplay, I'm going last gen for my baseball game this year since I have no faith in 2k's baseball.

Those kind of customer complaints are the worst. At least if you get a complaint you dont have to file with a regulatory body and go to arbitration ala the financial world.

Spending $400 for one game would not make the wife very happy. The cost of the PS2 and The Show 09 will equal the cost of MLB 2k9. I'm not a graphics whore, as long as the gameplay is good. I haven't bought a baseball game since MVP 2005, so I think I'm due.

My son's school (and dozens of others) have been closed with all classes and care canceled due to extreme cold.

Craziest thing I've ever seen...back in my day we had to walk to school in the cold, in t-shirts, with the wind blowing in our faces both ways!

My wife's school was closed today as well. I think she might have gone "postal" if she didn't get at least one day off from all of this snow and cold.

Craziest thing I've ever seen...back in my day we had to walk to school in the cold, in t-shirts, with the wind blowing in our faces both ways!

in the snow, with no shoes, with 50 pounds of books you had to carry with glass all over the road too i'd imagine.

The closest thing to that i've ever experienced was having to go to school and they canceled outdoor recess due to the cold but i've never seen a situation where they'd close school over it.

Though most parents would keep the kids home and there would just be a skeleton crew of kids and staff around.

I can honestly say I never remember school being canceled because of the cold when I was a kid in northern Vermont. I can remember going to school when the windchill was pushing -50. Therefore I find anyone who closes schools today because of the cold to be a god damned *****. Like SPTO I can remember recess being moved indoors (which actually really sucked for those in 5th-8th grade, as the K-4th graders had the gym while we did activities in the classroom), but never was school canceled because it was too cold.

I guarantee no employer is closed today because of the cold, prepare these little brats now.

They are oscar mayer hot dogs. And somehow when you microwave them the containers they come in steam the buns. They are so good. They taste just like grabbing a hot dog from a really good stand. Love em.
