Re: OS Off Topic 2009
Anthony Green's range sets him apart
Geoff Rickly's emotion is the best I've ever heard in a singer IMO
Craig Owens is solid all around
Patrick Stump is good and his voice is unique but in what I've heard of FOB his range isn't too amazing and I hardly get any emotion from anything I hear out of him.
btw a lot of people say that my music taste and judgement is insane so I'll take no offense on thatI don't like the Yankees, I like the Red Sox, I don't like the Lakers, I like the Celtics, I hate the Canadiens and I love the Bruins. Soccer is the best sport on Earth, but most Americans are too ignorant to realize it. I am American.

Re: OS Off Topic 2009
See, that's funny. When I was looking at your four main categories that you look at, I gave Stump a "+" in Range and Emotion, and a "-" in Uniqueness...and a push in Tone. Just shows that music is probably one of the biggest examples of "personal taste" there is.Comment

Re: OS Off Topic 2009
I saw the David Lettern Show a few days ago and there was a band singing some country music. Their name was Jimmy Johnson or something like that. I just can't remember the name, or maybe it's not the name at all. Does anyone remember that and can help me with their name?My Specs:

Re: OS Off Topic 2009
I'm a pretty big fan of FOB. Their just in the solid and not special category for me.
Range - When stacked up to guys like Anthony Green and Craig Owens his range isn't that huge at all. I've tried singing FOB songs and songs that the other 2 sing and Patrick's stuff is easily in my range while Anthony Green's stuff is right at the top of my head voice
Emotion - I don't know what it is. I just don't really get anything at all from Patrick like I do the other guys
Tone - push - Patrick has good tone. I really like the sound of his voice. He would get a plus but when he does all of those slides with his voice I hear some ugly sounds coming out
Uniqueness + I really haven't ever heard a vocalist that sounds like him at all. Very different in a good wayMy latest project - Madden 12 http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2043231648Comment

Sometimes I lose track of that and forget that everyone views things differently.I don't like the Yankees, I like the Red Sox, I don't like the Lakers, I like the Celtics, I hate the Canadiens and I love the Bruins. Re: OS Off Topic 2009
I LOVE Explosions in the Sky. One of the best bands of this decade, IMO.
Here's one of my favorite songs, some of you might recognize it:

Re: OS Off Topic 2009
You all bring up good points but in the end, we all have our own taste and no one can argue that.
My stay in the industry has led me to study and pretty much take apart mainstream music, including singers. Out of the vocalists listed in the past couple of pages, I think Stump's voice is the best if you're trying sell albums. I don't know if it's only me, but there's something about his voice that really attracts me to the music.
But then again, FOB's songs are extremely catchy, and a catchy song, sung by a decent singer, will always surpass a decent song, sung by an extraordinary singer.
In the end, while most of the singers listed have good voices, I'm not into the genre so I can't say much more.Comment

What's nice about music is that everyone has his own taste, but still dozens of thousands of people gather around to listen to the same artist. My Specs:
