      $4 footlong fridays at Harris Teeter is way better. Subs are twice as big and the ingredients are straight from the fresh deli. If you have a HT in your area, GO TODAY.

                  It wasn't. I was pissed. Plus, the guy was a total douche and put about 2 pickles and 2 peppers on there. I had to say "more please" twice for every veggie.

                      Yeah, so this isn't true.

                      I went yesterday and got my standard Subway Club w/ provolone, lettuce, tomato, pickles, green peppers and mayo and it came out to the same $7-something that I usually pay.

                      @OP: Not cool, man.

                        All the Subways near me have had the $5 footlongs for almost a year now. Its not all of them, but its like 8 or 10.

                        I usually get Spicy Italian, provolone, lettuce, black olive, jalapenos, onion, mayo, mustard, salt and pepper, or Italian herb and cheese.

                          That's a bummer. While I guess I have to play "college student" till my next paycheck, I know that I won't think twice before deciding which place I want to buy a sandwich, price being negligible (my Quiznos sub during the Buy 1/Get 1 Free was terrible... never going back there).

                            Yeah, I've been to Quiznos once and got a Prime Rib sub, It was terrible and very soggy. I didn't even finish it. Subway is much better.

                              I got the chicken mesquite sub today at quizzno's for $6 or so and it was incredible. I don't care about saving a buck or two, quizzno's is just so much far superior it's worth it.

                                I guess its only at participating locations because the only subs I can't get at mine for $5 are the premium subs and double stacks. I got this yesterday for lunch:

                                Subway Club (toasted)
                                Footlong Italian Herb & Cheese
                                Swiss Cheese
                                Lettuce
                                Tomatoes
                                Onions
                                Mayo
                                Mustard

                                + Chips & Drink = $7.77
