A Winter Storm Video From Chris

Just had the 'worst' winter storm of the season so far here in Oklahoma...we got a WHOPPING 2" of sleet and the state was SHUT DOWN!

Yeah...so it wasn't that bad comparatively but anytime the ground turns white I love to get some pics and video since it's a 3-4 times a year thing here

          Haha, that's awesome.

Yesterday we had 22 inches of snow and everything remained open. I mean, sure, I guess cause it happens so much, everything is already set up. But I mean, cancelling everything for 2 inches is just funny.

Im Canadian. Does OK not receive snow annually?

Chris you need to get some pictures of when we have the winter storms that are have thunder and lighting.

I do have a question Chris. Do you remember last year when we had tornados in the state one day and it snowed the next day? It may have been the other way around with the snow first but I can't remember.

Yeah man, it was March 2-3. There was one tornado near Watonga and another storm (which I was on) which was Tornadic for a time.

We usually receive 5-10 inches of snow annually (about 3-4 days typically).

2" of sleet is a pretty large amount. If that were snow, it'd had been a whole lot more than two inches. We got 2" of sleet back about six years ago or so and it did quite a good job at messing up the roads and everything, too.

We get about 8" annually here in the Triad of North Carolina, but that's not really a reliable statistic to go by because we can go several winters with nothing (the last few years have been like this), then have a few years when we get tons of snow. This happened in the early 2000s when we got over a foot of snow in late January of 2000 and in February of 2004 when we got over a foot (I didn't live here, then, though).

We've had about two inches this year from three systems. One produced a coating of snow back in early November. We saw a dusting sometime later and then we saw about an inch-and-a-half of snow from the last storm which gave over six inches of snow to Raleigh.
